Revdex.com:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.I am not willing to go through their business again, they allowed me to purchase a car that clearly indicated it had frame damageThey may have had it inspected to their standards but I would have never of purchased a vehicle under this condition, they MAY not be affiliated with carfax but it states that the seller made the buyer fully awareSo when I spoke to the manager he had lied about not knowing, the damage was never listed on my contract, which legally it HAS to be! They can have the car back and do what they would like with it, they will pay off the loanThey want me to go through their dealership again so they don't lose money and try to roll over money into another vehicle, I do not feel safe or have any trust in this businessNot only did they sell a vehicle that has indicated it could not be reliable but they sold a vehicle knowing it was worth very little.Regards, [redacted] ***

Revdex.com: I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted] , and although the issue is resolved it was only done so by the dealership requesting the vehicle backI was happy to oblige since parts of the contract that had been promised were wrongI would like to conclude that when the vehicle was returned all parties involved conducted themselves professionally Regards, [redacted]

We try very hard to
keep our customers satisfied and in this case there seemed to be no reasoning
with *** *** After several minutes
of trying to explain to *** *** that she was still responsible for her
current bank obligationThat her equity was credited to the new loan and that
her old loan did have to be paid off, with no avail We explained she could take this contract to
any bank and have them explain that she did get her equity credited and that she
does have to satisfy her other bank obligationWe feel we have done nothing
wrong and every number was gone over including interest rate, finance charge,
amount financed, total payments I have attached the customer copy of *** *** bank contract. You will see all
figures are very easy to read and there was nothing hidden or deceived
We came to an agreement that *** *** could
return the vehicle and stop all loan application and motor vehicle paper
work. *** *** exchanged vehicles on
Wednesday 8/13/at 7pmCustomer satisfaction is always our top priority
and there simply seemed no way to satisfy *** ***. We
feel this matter has been closed at this time
Thank You

In reference to complaint #[redacted]
The last time [redacted] contacted us about this vehicle was April 9th
2014. At that time he was at another dealership
with a dead battery. At that time we
paid that dealership $dollars to replace the battery[redacted] has not
brought the vehicle in for any service since January 2014. I'm not sure where he has been going for service
[redacted] did purchase an extended warranty
that is in effect until December or miles. If he can make an appointment with our
service department we would be more than happy to review the problems he is
having and see what is really going on with his vehicle. Sorry I couldn't be more helpful with the
issues he is having. We just haven't
been the dealership servicing his vehicle
Thank you

To whom it may concern;      In response to [redacted] complaint. Please see the complete Carfax on the 2011 Chevrolet Malibu V.I.N [redacted].  As you will see in the box with date 8/15/2014 “Structural damage...

may impact vehicle safety and reliability.”  As you will see from the Carfax report and the New York State inspection this vehicle is neither unsafe nor unreliable. I have also included the quote form the box dated 9/3/2015.  “Vehicles registered in New York are required to have a safety and emissions inspection every 12 months. Both inspections are also required when the ownership of a vehicle is transferred. New York car dealers must have the vehicle inspected no more than 30 days before the vehicle is delivered to the buyer. Some vehicles are exempt from emissions inspections. A New York inspection checks the following components:
Seat belts
Brakes
Parking Brake
Steering, Front End, Suspension, Chassis, Frame, Wheel Fasteners
Tires (except spare)
Lights: Headlights/Tail lamps/Stop lamps/Directional signals/Backup lights/License plate lights/Hazard warning/four-way flashers/Directional signal indicator/Windshield and other glass/Windshield wipers and blades
Horn
Mirrors
Emission test
Click here for more details about New York safety and emissions inspections.”         As you will see on the document titled Vehicle Highlights, please note the boxes on the left side Labeled STATE DMV-REPORTED TITLE PROBLES and ACCIDENTS AND OTHER ISSUES.  As you will see this vehicle had no airbag deployment and was not deemed salvage, junk, rebuilt, fire, flood, hail or lemon.  I have also included the Carfax Buyback Guarantee.      As a new vehicle dealer in NY we have standards and inspections we are required to follow and preform before we sell a vehicle.  This vehicle passed all necessary inspections and deemed a safe and reliable vehicle.  As the Carfax indicates, with there being only two minor repairs. One being a two wheel alignment and the other a light bulb since Mrs. [redacted] has taken ownership. Mrs. [redacted] did visit the dealership about this issue and was explained we are not affiliated with Carfax and are not a Carfax dealership, as to why she was not given this report. Mrs. [redacted] explained that the BMW dealership she was at would not take her car in on trade.      At this time we would offer to take Mrs. [redacted]’s vehicle in on trade as it has been a very reliable vehicle.
If I can help any further please let me know. Thank You George [redacted] General Manger, James Chevrolet of Johnstown LLC Note: Although we are not a Carfax dealer. We did pay for this Carfax report  to use for this complaint.

After they get you to buy one of their vehicles, They treat you like dirt. They sold me a $22,000 truck they needed an oil change. Their detail man did not clean my engine, I opened the hood and the engine was covered with dust. The guy who sold me the truck said they put $700 worth of rotors and brakes on the truck. Looking how they
treat you after you purchase your vehicle, I really doubt James Chevrolet put an extra
penny in the truck. I would never buy a vehicle from them again. Treating me like a piece of dirt, after spending $22,000, you think they would treat you better. Part of it
was my fault, I should have tried different dealers before I purchased the truck from them.

RE:  [redacted] & [redacted]  Case [redacted]
Eagle...

Chevrolet of Johnstown, L.L.C.

To Whom It May Concern:

Thank you for allowing me to respond to the above referenced complaint.  On 12/23/13, the complainant came to Eagle Chevrolet of Johnstown, L.L.C. and negotiated a deal to purchase a van.  She purchased the pre-owned 2009 Dodge Journey with 60,686 miles on it.  All terms were agreed upon and the complainant signed a legally binding Purchase Agreement.

On Wednesday, April 9, 2014, the complainant called the Eagle Chevrolet Service Department and stated when getting into the vehicle the alarm goes off and that the van would not start.  The vehicle was towed to Eagle Chevrolet and the General Motors Technician was unable to diagnose the Dodge.  Consequently, Eagle called local Dodge dealerships to schedule an appointment for the van to be serviced.  The first schedule opening was at [redacted].

The attached documentation shows that on Wednesday, April 16, 2014, the vehicle was sublet to [redacted] to be towed to [redacted] Chrysler Jeep Dodge of Amsterdam, Inc. where the vehicle was diagnosed and repaired with the installation of a new battery, air bag connector and fuses.
The total bill from [redacted] for the parts and labor was $433.00.

The complainant has a service contract which does not cover the $85.00 tow charge which added to the $433.00 repair bill for a total of $518.00.  Eagle Chevrolet had already reduced the bill by 50% to only $259.00 plus tax.  The complainant’s service contract has a $100.00 deductible which was added to the $85.00 tow bill for a total of $185 which was paid by the when the vehicle was picked up from Eagle Chevrolet on the morning of Tuesday, April 22, 2014.  Therefore, Eagle Chevrolet paid $333.00 for the repairs on the complainant’s vehicle.

Although it is unfortunate the complaint’s 2009 Dodge Journey needed repairs, Eagle Chevrolet of Johnstown, L.L.C. is not culpable for the wear or damage done to a vehicle during customer ownership.  As you can see on the documentation the vehicle has already been repaired and the service charges have already been greatly reduced.

Sincerely,

Mrs. [redacted] did
come in looking for a specific vehicle.
Unfortunately we can’t stock the over 1000 model combination General
Motors offers.  In cases where someone is
looking a certain model we don’t have in our inventory we have to rely on
General Motors dealer network.  We try
and find a dealer that has a vehicle that fits the customer wants and
needs.  In curtain cases it can take days
and even weeks to find that vehicle, as some vehicles show in inventory that
have not yet arrived from the factory.
This happens because once the vehicle has left the factory it is assigned
to the purchasing dealer and we have to work around another’s dealers schedule
and vehicle trade policies.
     Please see the
attached vehicle equipment list that is V.I.N specific to Mrs. [redacted]’s vehicle.   As you will see every option Mrs. [redacted]
listed as her “must haves” the car is clearly equipped with.   I truly don’t understand the reason for this
complaint other thank it took longer to get the vehicle she wanted. Unfortunately
locating a $30,000 vehicle can take time.
I have also attached the vehicle
invoice witch also shows the optional equipment for the vehicle, also V.I.N
specific.
Thank You
[redacted]
      As stayed pervious,
the vehicle is equipped with key less entry.
The model Mrs. [redacted] requested unfortunately has no option for what she
calls keyless entry nor can it be installed.
Different manufactures don’t always offer the same options as
others.  Please see the attached
equipment list. Mrs. [redacted] did receive everything she requested.  Mrs. [redacted] can call the service department
about the rings on the windshield.  If we
cannot remove them we can have the windshield replaced.  Unfortunately if she doesn’t trust us to
touch her car, then we can’t help her.

Mrs. [redacted] vehicle has been in for some issues.  The vehicle is a 2009 Suzuki SX4, unfortunately the repairs codes given from the vehicle can only be fixed at a Suzuki deal.  As you will see in the documentation included we...

have sent this vehicle to a Suzuki dealer.  We have provided Mrs. [redacted] with a loan vehicle each and every time her vehicle has been in for service.  Mrs. [redacted] is correct her vehicle did run out of NYS used vehicle warranty, but she does have an extended service contract through the Credit Acceptance Corporation program that is covering the repairs needed.  At this current time her vehicle is back from the Suzuki dealer and waiting for Mrs. [redacted] to return our call to either have her pick it up or for us to deliver.       Mrs. [redacted] has a current loan contract with Credit Acceptance Corporation on her vehicle. We can work with Mrs. [redacted] to try and trade her vehicle in toward something newer.

Visited James Chevy today. Heard about them on radio. Just moved to area and was in need of 2nd vehicle. Applied online a few days ago. Got call from young lady who said we were approved with no down payment. Glad to hear that because money is tight because of the state move. Several calls back an forth to make sure we were approved and didn't have to out anything down. Made appointment for today. Running a little behind called to let them know we were on the way, and ask again about approval and was told we were good. Almost an hour drive we get there sit down with sales person and she goes to manager and comes back and say depending on what we wanted we needed $ 2100 to $ 6100 down payment. What happen to $5 to $100 Down and drive home today. So as his saying goes For The People its all a line of [redacted] to get you to come in and they think they can sell you since you are in the dealership. How do dealers get away with stuff like that.Something should be done about this.
