Hello,I have reviewed the complaint submitted by the patientThis complaint is unwarranted, because we clearly explained to the patient what was going to be done and how much it would cost her based on estimates from the insurance companyWe have a signed treatment plan from the patient consenting to the careIt states on that treatment plan that, "This is our best estimate, we do not gaurantee insurance coverage and/or payment"There is also a hand written note stating that our estimates for this case were based on the assumption that all benefits in her plan were availableThe patient did not know her own insurance plan, so we did the best we could to minimize her out of pocket costs the day of careTo do that we estimated her co-pay from a full benefit perspectiveIn regards to the patients claim of untimely scheduling, this is also hyperbolePatient first came to our practice on 3/30/she had x-rays, Comprehensive Exam and a Full-Mouth DebrimentShe was then rescheduled for an extraction and filling on 4/12/It is common in our practice to have a full schedule and there is usually over a two week wait to have an appointmentWe were able to coordinate with the patient and get them back in of our working daysTo further address the issue of follow up with the Patient, they were then seen again on 4/20/for post operative evaluation and careRegarding the finance charge it was applied more than days after the insurance company paymentThe patient receives an Explanation Of Benefits from their insurance company outlining what was paid to the practice and what the patient still owesAs the patient stated we also sent her statements showing that there is a balance.James Day DDS MEdPC provides the best care possible for our patientsWe accept a large number of insurance plans and know that we can only estimate what they will cover for servicesExplaining this to our patients is standard protocol when presenting a treatment planThe patient was well informed of the treatment prescribed, the estimated costs associated, and consented to all care providedAfter researching the issue I can find no reason to relieve the patient of their balance dueOur practice did everything to the best of our abilities

Hello,I have reviewed the complaint submitted by the patient. This complaint is unwarranted, because we clearly explained to the patient what was going to be done and how much it would cost her based on estimates from the insurance company. to the care. It states on that treatment plan that, "This is our best estimate, we do not gaurantee insurance coverage and/or payment". There is also a hand written note stating that our estimates for this case were based on the assumption that all benefits in her plan were available. The patient did not know her own insurance plan, so we did the best we could to minimize her out of pocket costs the day of care. To do that we estimated her co-pay from a full benefit perspective. In regards to the patients claim of untimely scheduling, this is also hyperbole. Patient first came to our practice on 3/30/16 she had x-rays, Comprehensive Exam and a Full-Mouth Debriment. She was then rescheduled for an extraction and filling on 4/12/16. It is common in our practice to have a full schedule and there is usually over a two week wait to have an appointment. We were able to coordinate with the patient and get them back in 7 of our working days. To further address the issue of follow up with the Patient, they were then seen again on 4/20/16 for post operative evaluation and care. Regarding the finance charge it was applied more than 60 days after the insurance company payment. The patient receives an Explanation Of Benefits from their insurance company outlining what was paid to the practice and what the patient still owes. As the patient stated we also sent her statements showing that there is a balance.James Day DDS MEd. PC provides the best care possible for our patients. We accept a large number of insurance plans and know that we can only estimate what they will cover for services. Explaining this to our patients is standard protocol when presenting a treatment plan. The patient was well informed of the treatment prescribed, the estimated costs associated, and consented to all care provided. After researching the issue I can find no reason to relieve the patient of their balance due. Our practice did everything to the best of our abilities.
