I own a 20' 3" Nautic Star boat which has a canopy. The two straps which are attached to the metal braces which support the canopy broke.

I called ***, a private contractor who handles this type of repairs, to come to my home to repair the straps. He came to my house at which my boat is located and, after measuring the straps, he returned to my house to install them.

To his credit everything seemed to be fine, and I paid him his fee of $100; however, after Mr. left, I decided to raise the canopy to make sure that everything was working correctly. This is when I found that both straps were shorter than they were supposed to be.

To his credit, Mr. returned to my house after I called him to let him know that the straps were too short.

He remeasured the straps and found that both straps indeed were too short. He said that this wouldn't be a problem, and he would return during the week to reinstall new straps which would be adequate to support the canopy on my boat.

When he didn't return within the week to replace the straps, I called him to find out when he would be able to come to replace the straps.

Whether he answered the phone or not after this follow-up call, I don't remember; however,
I called him again several times to no avail; that is, he failed to either answer the phone or return
my call after I had left a message.

I have recently found out that I am not the only one to whom he owes money.
