James' Painting & Home Improvement

I hired James G[redacted] to do a painting job in my house. He worked diligently on applying the primer, then asked me if I would pay for the entire job before completion because he needed to make a child support payment that very day. I gave him a check for $500, the full amount of the project. He promised to come back early the next morning to continue work. He never showed up and the painting is still not finished. I have made multiple calls to his cell phone without any response.

In addition, he told my husband that he needed money to buy a product called "Goof Off" to remove the multiple paint splatters on the fireplace - but he left his wallet at home. My husband gave him $60 in cash to buy this, with the expectation of getting change back. Mr. G[redacted] has never appeared with the "Goof Off" nor any change.
