James Salon

I feel it is only fair to warn others of the situation that took place today at James Salon in Greeley, Co - it is an Aveda concept store, so I felt safe going there. I was looking to lighten my hair a few shades from dark brown to help minimize my gray that has recently been coming through. When I called to make my appointment, I asked for the price, I was told that it varies between levels of hairstylists and the hairstylist I would be scheduled with was a hairstylist with a high level of training but not the highest level. As I arrived for my appointment and speaking with my hairstylist I am realizing they did in fact schedule me with a higher level stylist as she spoke about her time with the salon and sonority. I figured about $20 to $25 difference to be with this gal was worth it so I did not say anything....my original quote was $89 to a little over a $100, just to keep on track.

I had also requested my grays to be covered, as we are going thru the process, she is foiling my hair with no root touch up, yet...thought I would be patient....it is time to rinse, it took her a long time to rinse, was not quite sure what was going on but she gave me a little massage on my neck and scalp so no complaints.

We proceed to her seating area where she proceeds to dry my hair, asks what kind of style, I say not too much just the blow dry...she pulls out a straightening iron and uses that for about 3 min, hair looks fine and I feel happy until I get to checkout....$125 for full head of highlights, which now I am looking, it is not all of the hair, just the top and the underneath part, $20 for a toner...what? Toner, did I ask for that...NO....did anyone ask me???....NO....and $26 for my blow dry and minimal hairstyle ...did anyone mention the cost of this or make it obvious information? TOTALLY CRIMINAL AND BAD BUSINESS practice, it is a scam....I should not have to pay extra considering I was not informed of the "little extra fees" tacked on along the way....would you send me out with wet hair???? What a joke this salon is...I love AVEDA and I will also let them know the bad business practices that are being attached to their name. Oh, last thing, I got home and observed my hair even more, realized she did not even do my root touch up, I still have gray!!! All for $165, including the tip.....BEWARE consumers!!!!!
