James the Mechanic Reviews (1)

On September 19, 2015 customer's 2003 Ford Expedition was towed into the shop for a water pump bypass tube to  be replaced. Repairs were completed on or about the 25th of September. Upon completion of repairs, I started the vehicle to add coolant and once the coolant began to circulate the...

engine started smoking, knocking, and misfiring. This is when I determined the vehicle had a blown head gasket. I notified the customer that the vehicle had been overheated too many times and gave him a quote to repair the blown head gasket. The customer informed me that he did not have the money for additional repairs or repairs that were done. He then said that he would be back within the week to pay for repairs done and pick up his vehicle. He never returned so I called and left several messages for him to call or come by the shop. I tried contacting him until Thanksgiving 2015 with one response. He said his mother had been ill and that he would come by after the holidays. On December 15, 2015 I sent a registered letter detailing circumstances surrounding his vehicle. Customer called on February 10, 2016 asking how much it would be to get his vehicle back. He was provided the information, but said he was only willing to pay for repairs done because it was not right for him to be charged storage for his vehicle. He informed the shop that he would be retaining an attorney to represent him and we said not a problem we look forward to our date in court. In addition I would like to the Revdex.com to know that at no time did I have any contact with the customer's spouse in reference to this matter. I was not asked to diagnose this vehicle on to replace the water pump bypass tube that the customer had already purchased. Please see attached documents. Thank You and we look forward to continuing servicing the Central Texas area with quality workmanship.
