He has lied in the letter to you He did, in fact, place a cap on the pressure relief valve, which, in turn, caused a break in the main water line We have verified this with several plumbers Also, we asked if he could fix it and he refused, saying that the insurance company was not going to pay for it We were not upset that the insurance company was not paying for the repairs, in full We are upset that he is denying that the break was his fault and feel like he should have to pay to fix it He claims he told us he was going to put a valve on the pressure relief in order to cut it off and on, yet that was never stated to us When he returned to the home, when the basement flooded (minutes after he left) the first thing he done was cut the cap off We saw him do this If the water heater pressure valve had nothing to do with the "cold" water break, he would not have cut the cap that he had placed on the pressure relief valve, off Also, the first question from him was "Has anyone took showers or used the hot water?" We told him, "Our son was taking a shower and the dish machine was going." Several attemts were made by myself and my wife to get him to fix the problem and he hung up on me and then told my wife to xall back on Saturday morning at 8am When she called, there was no returned call from him until Revdex.com was contacted, several days later Therefore, I am not satisfied with this resolution

There wasn't any changes in the invoice.  I've attached the letter Dodd's sent with my comments in red.  The [redacted] stated in an email the clogged pipe was billed and [redacted] did pay for this service.  All pasted in the letter.  I would agree to pay for the connecting the drying $77. and fixing the downspouts 150 - 75 = $75.  Total $152.00.  Please let me know if this is good.

In regard toletter about work for [redacted] at [redacted], wedo hereby acknowledge that we were called to work on a hot water heater on12/26/2014.  We were dispatched by[redacted] and responded the same day that the owner placed...

thecall to check a leak at the hot water heater and found the relief value on topof hot water heater leaking.  This valuehad leaked into the hot water heater and saturated the insulation blanketcausing water to run into the pan under the hot water heater.  We called [redacted] and replaced the value andfittings under their authorization, repairs to be paid by[redacted], less [redacted]service fee of $ 75.00.  I told them toleave the door open to closet and allow the water to dry out.  A few days later, they placed another calland we returned to their house to find only a little water on one side of pan -where floor may be uneven.  Water isstill slowing dripping out of insulation. I was never told by [redacted] or anyone elsethat they were considering replacing hot water heater if they hadcomplaints.   Several days later, they placed another call,I was in the area and stopped to check hot water heater – again found no leak,he said he had vacuumed water out of pan. I told Mr. [redacted] I would install a value on the drop pipe, to satisfy himand at no cost to anyone, so that if he ever saw water again – he could cutwater off.  This value was left on - atno time have I installed a cap on any pipe. The drop pipe carries wateroverflow from relief value.  I received acall about 930 pm saying his basement was flooding, I immediately returned tohis house and found water in the floor of the basement, wet around main waterpipe but nothing wrong with the hot water heater.  I went outside and found county water meterspinning and cut off water and told him – he had a busted pipe in basement fromcold water supply.  The water supply linehas nothing to do with relief value on hot water heater.  I advised him to call [redacted] and tell them hehad a leak. I called in a diagnosis to [redacted] and had to return to house the nextday to get estimate for the repairs - which I called into [redacted] and gave them aprice of 3500.00.  I was told by [redacted] theyonly had coverage for $ 1,000.00.  I alsogave the owner a price and options of how to repair the problem. Mr. [redacted]even crawled under house with me so that I could show him how I could fixproblem.  I have had severalconversations with both the [redacted]’s and would have been willing to work on asolution to problem, but they were not happy that their insurance would not payall the bill.  They opted to a cash outamount from[redacted], and had someone else fix their problem.I haveworked on this house several times every time called by [redacted], in May they werecomplaining of water in the basement and I was sent by [redacted].  At the time, we were having a lot of rain andI thought the water was coming in from the rain, I could not find a visibleleak.  Afterwards they had 2 sump pumpsinstalled.  We have been there severalother times for calls from [redacted], and never had any problems.  I am sorry that the busted pipe happened atthe same time I was working on hot water heater, but this had nothing to dowith leak.  We value our business and striveto make our customers happy.  Pleaseadvise what other information you need.

Review: You completed work for us to fix plumbing issues in 2014 on our home at [redacted] At that point and time, we had Home Warranty coverage. We paid you the $75 for the call and then you made claims to the Home Warranty Company to get paid the remainder. The next time, we paid you at least $75 for “caulking areas on our roof” by way of my debit card and then you once again made a claim to our Home Warranty Company. We contacted the Home Warranty Company and they told us that we did not owe you any money because THEY PAID YOU. We thought the bills had been resolved and even talked to you in your store about the bill. Then over a year later, we received a bill and talked to you in person about it. We requested an itemized listing of work which was completed and payments made. We never received it. Now, in January 2016, over two years later, you have sent us another bill with “no explanation of work completed” – only an amount of money you want us to pay. Each time we receive your invoice we dispute it to you; we think it’s resolved, then 10 months later we receive another statement. After the first statement we received, we talked to you in person at your store and “You”, James D[redacted] stated “Don’t worry I’ll take care of you girls.” We told you that if the amount was over $75 then we would have to discuss it. Then 10 months later we receive another statement with additional charges. Now, you want us to pay you $727 for what? We don’t know because there is no itemized listing of work completed and the costs incurred for it. Also, you have never given an estimate about how much you would charge to do the work. You did the work and then expected us to pay whatever amount you decided. Also, according to the Home Warranty Company, we do not need to pay you.Desired Settlement: We would like a final invoice for the three water down spouts only (which should be less than $200.00) and the remaining invoice amount be dissolved.

Response:

In response to the complaint from Ms. [redacted] of [redacted]-we were originally called by [redacted]

her home warranty company in April of 2014 for leaks at the washing machine

area. Dispatch #[redacted] - we went to her house and talked to a lady that was

renting a room in her house. At this fame we found the faucet leaking, and gave

[redacted] an estimate for $130.00 for 30.00 for materials and 100.00 for labor. The

service fee of$ 75.00 was collected and we replaced faucet. The main complaint

at this time was a backup from the washing area, which was coming from the

drain line not the water line. The tenant had chopped up a lot of ham and put

down the garbage disposal causing all the drain lines to be stopped up. I

talked to Ms. [redacted] on the phone and she said to do whatever was necessary ·

to solve the problem, At this time I told her this was not covered by her insurance

because of how the line was stopped up, She agreed to pay whatever necessary so

that tenant could use pipes. I tried to clean out the lines, but because of age

and · stoppage was not able to clean and had to replace drain lines in crawl

space. We also found the dryer cord missing from dyer. I saw her after this in

person and she said how good everything was working and to get her a bill. At

this time I said I would take care of it. Never have I ever heard a complaint,

nor have I gotten any phone calls asking for anything. Again in Nov of 2014, I

received a call from [redacted] for a leak thru the ceiling at same address. Dispatch#

[redacted], I checked leak and found the water was coming from around the vent

pipes thru roof. I called in diagnosis and [redacted] denied claim - roof problems are

not covered. MS [redacted] was mad at [redacted] and told me to say that water came from

pipes. 1. told her l could not do that. The charge to [redacted] was $125.00 for

service call and checking for leaks only, she paid her service fee of$ 75.00 with

a . credit card. I have done all proper paperwork to [redacted] and they, did not tell

Ms. [redacted] that she did not have to pay us. They denied claims and would not

cover paying us for additional work. At this time she instructed me to do what

ever necessary to fix · problem. I caulked around vent pipes on roof and

repaired gutters for$ 170.00. I believe this is less than her estimate of$

200.00 that she thinks is fair. A bill was mailed to her several times, with no

response whatsoever. No calls, conversations, or letters until she called you

and me at the same time. It is my practice to mail the first bill with an

itemized list of what has done - Invoice# 4973, and then to mail statements

showing a balance due. At no time did the amount of the bill change. It has

been awhile since I last mailed her a statement prior to Jan 2016, because I

overlooked this. I am not sure what Ms. [redacted] wants, nor was I aware of any

concerns she had.

Review: We had called [redacted] about an issue with the hot water heater leaking. We paid the $75 and [redacted] sent [redacted] to our home to fix the issue. The first time he came out he changed the valve on the water heater. The water heater continued to leak. We called again. He came out, looked at the water heater and stated that it was suppose to leak a little and left. The third time we called [redacted], they stated that if he could not fix the issue the third time that the work order would be placed into options and the water heater would be replaced with a new one. The third time we called him on 6 January 2015. He came to the home at approximately 7:45pm unannounced and placed a cap on the water pressure release valve and told me that there would be NO MORE leaks. About 15 minutes after he left, we had a busted pipe in the basement, coming from the slab in the wall near the hot water heater. I immediately called him back and he returned at approximately 10pm and the first thing he did was cut the cap, that he had placed on the pressure valve, off. Then he tried to say it was ground water seeping through the walls. He cut the water off to the house and then checked the main water meter and it was still running, as well as still coming into the basement. He shut the main water meter off and informed us that we would have to call [redacted] back. Then he left. We asked another plumber if the cap being placed on the pressure relief valve would have caused this and was told "Yes. It will build pressure and when it has no where to go, it will back up and find the weakest part of the pipe and burst it." When we tried to tell [redacted] it was his fault, he denied it. We asked if not his fault, why did he cut the cap off. He gave no reason, except it was a busted pipe. We are still without water and he refuses to fix it at his expense. This will cost me $6,774 to be fixed by another area plumber, called [redacted] Also, my water heater was never fixed.I need help.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for the expenses that I am incurring from his mistake. $6,774.

He has lied in the letter to you. He did, in fact, place a cap on the pressure relief valve, which, in turn, caused a break in the main water line. We have verified this with several plumbers. Also, we asked if he could fix it and he refused, saying that the insurance company was not going to pay for it. We were not upset that the insurance company was not paying for the repairs, in full. We are upset that he is denying that the break was his fault and feel like he should have to pay to fix it. He claims he told us he was going to put a valve on the pressure relief in order to cut it off and on, yet that was never stated to us.
