Complaint: [redacted] I am rejecting this response because: I have sent a check to Jameson interiors for $and also initially paid her $equalling a total of $1, After speaking with the TBAE (Texas Board of Architectural Examiners) and a handful of other designers/decorators, I have been advised that $1,is very generous under the circumstances of having no work on my home I have hired a new decorator and have contacted the TBAE and have discussed my bill with them from Jameson, just to make sure I was not being unreasonableThe TBAE told me how to find the industry standard for design work and Jamison's is off the chartsI have lost weeks of time when the house should have been worked on The business is correct that I wanted some of the tasks completed within a certain time frame, but the business failed to send anything regarding work for over a monthThe response from the business owner is simply not true I have reached out to them, in email and verbally, stating that the quoted prices were very high and not at all in line with what we discussedI had given many opportunities for them to give alternate quotesThe reason I had to get my own quotes was because Jameson only gave one quote for each project that was very high As I stated in social media, I was simply told that the pricing was in line with Austin pricesI have a handful of people who were present when I expressed that I would like this job done at average of the industry standard, or lower I sent several emails stating how unhappy I was with the bill and received no response for over a week, only to receive an insulting email to remove 10% for zero work Jameson did no work on my home but over charged me for "busy work" My suggestion is that she take the $1,and consider that fair payment Regards, [redacted] ***

I am rejecting this response because: I have sent a check to Jameson interiors for $1000 and also initially paid her $500 equalling a total of $1,500.  After speaking with the TBAE (Texas Board of Architectural Examiners) and a handful of other designers/decorators, I have been advised that $1,500 is very generous under the circumstances of having no work on my home.  I have hired a new decorator and have contacted the TBAE  and have discussed my bill with them from Jameson, just to make sure I was not being unreasonable. The TBAE told me how to find the industry standard for design work and Jamison's is off the charts. I have lost 6 weeks of time when the house should have been worked on.  The business is correct that I wanted some of the tasks completed within a certain time frame, but the business failed to send anything regarding work for over a month. The response from the business owner is simply not true.  I have reached out to them, in email and verbally,  stating that the  quoted prices were very high and not at all in line with what we discussed. I had given many opportunities for them to give alternate quotes. The reason I had to get my own quotes was because Jameson only gave one quote for each project that was very high.    As I stated in social media, I was simply told that the pricing was in line with Austin prices. I have a handful of people who were present when I expressed that I would like this job done at average of the industry standard, or lower.  I sent several emails stating how unhappy I was with the bill and received no response for over a week, only to receive an insulting email to remove 10% for zero work.  Jameson did no work on my home but over charged me for "busy work".  My suggestion is that she take the $1,500 and consider that fair payment.

It is very unfortunate that this client felt the need to immediately pursue negative press through several outlets prior to consulting us regarding her complaints.  This case is the result of a client requesting (we have in writing both from our face to face meeting notes as...

well as phone notes) to have many things done to her home in a short amount of time.  The items we priced were based strictly on her requests and her design ideas.  Upon receipt of the costs from our contractors she decided to get other bids without requesting the details from them that were requested from us.  We are not contractors and only have loyalties based on quality of work, response times and recommendations.  We are not opposed to clients reaching out to contractors for competitive bids however; it is paramount that the requests made of each be the same; or numbers can be very different and result in disappointed clients.     As we responded to her complaints on other outlets; I have included the prior response.        Dear [redacted], We are sorry you were disappointed with our efforts. We always strive to accomplish a clients wishes in the shortest time frame and with the upmost professionalism. To clarify the painting: the numbers for our painters whom I acknowledged are not inexpensive; do immaculate work. Aside from painting (which we only use non voc, excellent paint), the bid also included refinishing and re-staining all of the interior railings, newel posts, carpentry work on the stair skirting, refinishing & repainting the front door along with painting new doors that were to be installed. We did also offer and bring a second contractor to provide an estimate for comparison and welcomed any alternate bids. The courtyard request was a combination of two courtyard areas. A custom stone and wrought iron railing, accommodating new electric for lanterns and re-working all existing sprinklers; a custom stone bench and table, new landscaping for the area and new pavers connecting the also new gated secondary courtyard for the dogs. The first pass was too expensive and we sent it back to have it modified. We were in the process of coordinating the final design with you and also receiving competitive bids. We are always open to competitive bids (this is how we sometimes find great artisans!) but making sure these items are bid in an apples to apples comparison; not only with quality of finishes but your requested scope of work can sometimes result in misleading numbers and unhappy customers in the end. The invoice being sent without it's itemized attachment was simply a result of a computer error; which was rectified that same day when you informed me that the attachment was not in fact attached. As for returning your items prior to receipt of payment; Documents created by our team would be sent after receipt of payment; as I am sure you understand. We were happy to return your keys and items you provided us even requesting if it would be easier to coordinate with a local acquaintance. We truly wish you the best in your move and would be happy to review any of the bids you received to make sure all of the elements you were requesting are actually included. I would hate for you to be disappointed. Kind Regards, [redacted] JAMESON INTERIORS
