Jan and Dean's Moving and Estate Sales

The sale was advertised 1/10 7am to 1pm (Saturday). I arrived 1/10 at 11am and was told the sale was closed.
Although the cordial young man told me that most everything had been sold, they were busy loading a large trailer and van.
I fully expected the sale items to be picked over but I did not anticipate the sale to close before the advertised time.

I had sent an earlier email saying we are working with our insurance company on this.  To date we have not received their response.  As soon as we do hear from them, we will let you and the lady with the complaint know.

This company has been conducting an estate sale in our neighborhood in Sun City since Wednesday, Feb. 19th. Our neighborhood is quite small (about 15-20 houses). For four days our driveways have been blocked by customers to the point where, on Saturday, Feb. 21st we had the Sheriff's Dept. check out the situation. Mind you, Saturday was the least offensive of the 4 days of this sale (it is our understanding the sale will continue this week as well). Even the Sheriff's Dept. agreed that because of the cars parked in this small neighborhood on both sides of the street, blocking neighbors driveways, that if the fire department had to respond to an emergency, they would be unable to drive down the street without running the risk of hitting vehicles. A few of us had difficulty getting out of our driveways this week. Wednesday, Feb. 19th, people showed up at this sale as early as 6:00 AM. I had to ask one man to move his van and turn his radio down at 6:00 AM and asked him not to block my driveway. Jan & Dean's employees showed up at 5:25 AM that day and were quite noisy. I did send an email to Jan & Dean's that day (which they never responded to) and at least the employees were considerate the rest of the week. If they are going to have an estate sale that lasts an entire week or more, they should have an employee outside ensuring that their customers do not block driveways - perhaps posting signs throughout the neighborhood rather than just in the driveway where they are having the sale. I came home from work on Thursday at lunch time and had trouble getting down the street, and then couldn't even get into my driveway as it was blocked, so I just went back to work. Several of my neighbors are quite frustrated at this point. We understand that people have estate sales, and if they last 1-2 days, that's acceptable and we can tolerate the traffic and the ignorance. But when it goes on for 4 days and looks as though it will continue into this week as well, that's unacceptable. I will never recommend this company to anyone. I am thoroughly disgusted with the way they do business.

I've waited until some of the pain of dealing with this company has subsided. They were horrible to deal with. Here are some of my complaints. They promised to post photographs online of items to be sold. They never did. They threw items away they said were unsalable. I recovered over a dozen collectibles from what they discarded, I later sold on [redacted] for $10 or more per item. They marked vintage headphones at $2.; they didn't sell. I later sold on [redacted] for $80. They reminded me repeatedly how inconvenient it was that I was living in the home; even though I had opened all but 1 bedroom and bath to them. Truly, one of the worst experiences I've ever had. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!!!!!!
