11/28/
Jan started doing my hair, my son's hair, and my husband's hair (now my ex-husband of years) when my son was years old Now, my son is years old so that is years by my calculation I only mentioned years as a reflection of my loyalty to her And after years, it is shocking to me how she is being unprofessional Jan NEVER gave me any professional advice regarding chunky highlights She only stated they were not her favorite That is a personal opinion The first time I asked her to give me chunky highlights she did not, so the next time I had an appointment, I clearly stated I wanted to see more colors not a solid looking highlight; please give me chunky highlights and she didI loved it! Months later, it was time to cover the gray and the grow-out so I made an appointment 10/08/She did not try to talk me out of it nor offer any advice against it This is not an unusual highlight; it is not something I created, many people have chunky highlights Jan complained her arms hurt because she has them up in the air for long periods doing hair, out of consideration to her discomfort, I often left with wet hair so she would not have to style my hair The lighting in her salon is different from my home and I did not notice the orange (NOT GOLDEN) until later the next morning I tried to "live with it" but hated the look So I asked her if she could do a color-correctionWhile I was sitting in her chair for the color-correction I asked her what the plan was and she told me she knew what she was doing Then she turned me into a brunette I did not ask for that color and did not like itYes, it made me feel uglyShe then put a toner on it to lighten the dark brown color and it turned orange a 2nd timeI told her I was confused and did not understand what was different this time as she has given me many highlights over the yearsShe TOLD me she used a different LEVEL and walked to her cabinet and pulled out my customer index card to make a note to NOT USE THAT LEVEL again She knew I was not happy with my hair and seemed very frustratedShe told me to wash and wear it for a couple of weeks and get back in touch with her again if it was not any better I texted her again to see if she could color-correct my hair a third time and suggested a thin highlight if that would help the matter and she then told me she would have to charge meI did not think that was fair at all I paid for a highlight that she messed up twice, why in the world would I want to give her more money and asked her what if this 3rd color-correction was orange again? Would I have to keep paying to get it fixed? That doesn't seem professional to meI told her to cancel my appointment and decided I would no longer go to her EVER again I posted (vented) my experience on Facebook BUT I DID NOT EVER MENTION HER NAME OR HER BUSINESS NAMEI also posted pictures and have pictures of my hair each time she colored my hair It is clearly orange and not blonde Many people asked me if I purposely chose to go orange and of course, I did not choose orange; that color is ugly to me I met with a new stylist and she clearly saw orange and said she could do my hair for me Guess what? She fixed it in one sitting I no longer have orange hair and it only cost me $for the highlight and cut Quite the bargain I shared some of the stuff Jan had told me and she did not agree with her "professionalism" or lack there of in this case I am requesting my $back from Jan (Yes, it was $and $for a tip, I accidentally misquoted $last time.) I checked my records and have a check for proof of payment if need be I paid for a service and received a nightmare that was not my fault in any wayShe used a different level and caused this orange mess then tried to make it sound like it was something I did Keep in mind, the other stylist fixed her orange mess and that tells me which one is the true professional By the way, I no longer feel ugly I love my new hair color Jan needs to return my money for a service she did not provide accurately or professionally

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because: I paid for a service; a highlight she messed up twice and never fixed it correctly I had to go to a different salon to get my hair color-correction which cost me more money As a professional courtesy she needs to refund me I would like this matter resolved soon Sincerely,*** ***

I have done her hair for 8-years, she says During this time she visits my salon once or twice a yearShe usually arrives with 6-inches of grow out with 75% grey hairUpon this visit she requested I perform large stripes of brown and blondeI suggested we did not do this as it is ugly and
unnatural lookingShe appeared to be pleased when she left because with the $charge she tipped me $Due to the length of hair this is a bargain, I took the thinness of her hair into consideration of my chargeShe text me a week later stating it was orange it was not orange but as a professional calls it goldUpon her second visit I darkened the large stripes still keeping the large blonde stripes visibleShe stated she looked ugly and insisted I do somethingI suggested she wear it and let it fade a bitOnce again she would not take my professional opinion into consideration informed her the gold is still there so, I did a bleach wash to pull some dark outOnce again she left and seemed pleased, she insisted on leaving with wet hairNext thing I read she is bashing me on Social MediaTwo weeks later she texts me and wants to come in for me to fix my mistake and at that time wants me to perform a "normal" highlight which is what I suggested from the beginningI informed her I would need to charge her an unspecified amount to cover my cost for the additional colorShe jumped to the conclusion it was going to be $againI never stated that it would beNext I hear she wanted to cancelThen wants her money backI'm running a small business and have spent four hours and fifty dollars in color on herIf she feels ugly it's out of my hands
Sincerely,
Jan S***

I will not refund her money as I stated earlier due to the time spent and cost of color used
