J And J Small Engine Repair

Lawnmower sent for repair and paid for in advance. Never returned. Unable to contact. Won't return phone calls. No communication. Moved location.
We had 2 ZTR lawnmowers, a Dixon 38" and a John Deer 42", in for repair May 2018. The John Deer, was finally returned after several months and repeated phone calls to John (owner) and Justin D. The Dixon mower, we were told, was not yet repaired. The John Deer lawnmower, upon it's initial use, leaked gasoline all over the garage. We advised Justin D. and John, who eventually delivered the Dixon and picked up the John Deer, for additional repairs, on 9/20/2018. They requested more money for the repairs, stating it was going to cost more than they originally thought. They were given a check for an additional $257.61. That is the last time we ever saw the lawnmower. Repeated phone calls have been made since then. 1 response, on 4/3/2019 from the owner John, saying he didn't even know they still had the mower and thought it had been delivered in Nov. Not sure how that's possible as there were multiple messages left inquiring about the status of the mower. Also he was out of town and would have to arrange for someone with a trailer to deliver. He was told that would not be necessary, we would pick it up. Then he said he would need to arrange for someone with a key to unlock the property and he would call back. To this day, have never heard back from him. There have been literally hundreds of messages left, at his business and cell phone contact, with no response. He has stolen the money and the property and will not return phone calls. I am writing this for my father, owner of the John Deer mower, who is 96 years old. His 1 acre yard and home is overgrown out of control again. We have had to hire out to have his yard mowed at increasing costs until the mower is returned. J and J business phone voice mailbox is not currently activated and therefore unable to leave messages or contact. Please help. Thank you in advance.
I would like to add that the owner, John, always has a catastrophic story to tell about his life, to use as an excuse for delaying. He had to have heart surgery and while he was away his stepson ruined his business. Then his father passed away...the latest was his wife was very ill and required surgery and that was why he was out of town for an extended period. I'm so sorry, but I just want what my father paid for and to have the lawnmower returned.

It has been a month (tomorrow) after paying these guys $600 and my mower is still not fixed and the communication has been non-existent to say the least! This is not acceptable!

I would never recommmend this business to anyone!
