Japanese Carmasters SD Reviews (2)

Review: The car was kept in their shop for over two weeks for what should have been some major repairs @ the final cost of $1,200. The employee (mechanic) who did the work told me he was the owner. He gave me a receipt/printout that did not look real; ie; no detailed info of parts, cost, labor, etc. No information on the printout about warranty, etc. My name, his name weren't even on the receipt. Less than four months later the car was having trouble again and when I called the shop to see what would be covered I was told the mechanic was NOT the owner, just an employee, and worse still that he went on vacation and never came back. The person who I spoke with on the phone said neither me nor info on my car was in their system. I took the car to the [redacted] who told me that many things that should have been repaired or replaced during the work Japanese Car Masters claimed to have done, were not. The car is now at a third auto repair shop where I'm told everything that should have been done after the first breakdown, still needs to be done...to the tune of $1,482. I feel totally ripped off and scammed by Japanese Car Masters. I'm told the mechanic in question (Manny) has been terminated. This unfortunately, is of no consolation to me with my car now worse off .Desired Settlement: I would not trust this shop with my car at this point. Even a partial refund would be better than nothing.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution would be satisfactory to me. I will wait for the business to perform this action and, if it does, will consider this complaint resolved.

Review: On July 3rd, I had the water pump in my car go out. I got my car towed to the business on the referral of the tow truck driver. I got the water pump replaced and was told the car was good to go. The mechanic neglected to do a simple inspection that would have told him that I had a transmission leak that needed to be repaired. I drove my car away with the understanding that there were no other issues. Less than two weeks later, my transmission started having problems until I was unable to drive it safely. I had it towed back to the mechanic for them to find out the issue. It turns out that my transmission burnt out due to no fluid left. I talked with the office manager and he explained that he warned me about the issue, when he never did. I have no documentation stating that there was a transmission leak, nor would I have left with my car had I know about the leak.Desired Settlement: I would like my car to be repaired at no cost to me due to the neglect of the business.
