Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response because: I have never heard of having to "set a tach" so that a remote start will start in the winterWe live in Montana, and I purchased this product right before winter was expected to hitSo why would you have a product that is advertised to start in the cold mornings if you have to set something so that it "should" start? And we were not informed that our battery was not able to handle the remote start after the installation, so the next day when we had a dead vehicle, it could have been avoided and the tach most likely would have been set properly by the professionals and all of this could have been avoided if you had been up-front with us about the batteryWe should not have had to bring the vehicle in multiple times to get a tach set when the whole point of getting a remote start is to have it work in the winter! We were told that if setting the tach failed multiple times then they could change the tach so that it would start no matter whatThat's what a remote start is expected to do, start in any weatherOn December 4th at 6:A.Mthe vehicle had sat overnight, and it was about degrees when he started his vehicle and set the tachHe couldn't test the tach because the vehicle had been started so we had to wait until the next morning to test itThe next morning he tried to start his vehicle with the tach set properly and it did not start(Key in the ignition, start the vehicle and immediately hold the tach button after the vehicle started for 5-seconds and the light should blink blue, which it did.) Frustrated with this expensive piece of equipment not working again, he came in to ask me to take it into them to hopefully get it finally fixedIn the minutes he was inside complaining about a faulty product, someone took his vehicleI fail to see how you don't find any correlation between the stolen vehicle and the remote start not workingWhile it is unfortunate that the vehicle was stolen, it never would have happened if the remote start worked as advertised
Sincerely,

Complaint #***I am sorry you have never heard of having to "set the tach" on a remote startYou must not be in theindustryOur remote start has what is called a over revlimiter, which means if the tach get to high itwill shut off so that it doesn't red line your motor and blow it upIt is a safety feature built inYes, we dolive in Montana, which for some vehicles does cause some issuesIf you try to start your vehicle with akey and it has to be held over longer to start when it's colder, that means the tach we set when it waswarmer would shut the remote start off in order to protect the engineThis happens in vehicles thatmay need some maintenance and in certain model of diesel pickups when programmed when warmer. We do not test batteries upon installation of remote startsAfter working on your vehicles with doorsopen, the battery was low so we put it on the chargerWhen you said the remote starter was notworking, we checked all our connections and found them to be fineWe checked the programming ofthe starter and bypass module and found they had lost programmingThat lead us to checking yourbatteryUpon inspection of battery we found it had failed tests and needed to be replacedWeinformed you that you needed a new battery and that we would then have to re-program once it wasreplacedWe install hundreds of these each yearEvery once in a while there may need to be someadjustments which is part of our lifetime warrantyA remote start can only start a vehicle if it hasproper voltage and that the safety features built in to the unit are met each time.Again, we are sorry for your car stolenIf it is returned we will be happy to re-program the remote startto your satisfactionHopefully you had insurance but not sure if they pay if left started and un-attended.Jarrett's StereosJarrettThis will be our last response as we have explained all the issues twice and nothing else to discuss

BR email:Revdex.com Complaint id: ***We were sorry to hear the customer had their vehicle stolen When the customer brought their vehicle in to have it installed, we had to put the battery charger on it to pull it out of the service deptWe thought it may have drained the battery while working
on itWe pulled the vehicle out of our shop, restarted it and performed the lock and unlock feature as wellThey called the next day or day after saying it was not workingWe tested all our connections and tested the battery againThe battery failed, which caused our unit to lose programmingWe told the customer to get a new battery and that we would then be able to re-program the remote starterThe next day the customer came back and we reprogrammed the remote starter and the bypass moduleHe came in at night time after he got off workThe vehicle was nice and warmed up, meaning it didn't need a higher voltage to crank overWith the new battery installed we reprogrammed everythingAbout a week ago he came in between 4:30/5:saying that it won't remote start in the morning but through the day it will. The customer talked with my Installation Manager, who told him that the tach wire needed to be reprogrammed but in order to do that he would have to leave his vehicle for a few hours because we needed it to cool down and be cold again to properly set itHis other option was we told him he could do it at homeHe needed to wait till it was cold in the morningThen he would have to go out to the vehicle, start it manually and then push a button on the antenna, which was on his windshieldThe installer walked him through it a couple times artd he said he would try that. The next phone calli received was from the customer's girlfriend, telling me we have a problemHer car was stolenI asked how it was stolenShe told me that after her boyfriend tried what my installer had told him to do it didn't remote start so he took it upon himself to start the car with the key and walk inside while it warmed upThat was a choice the customer madeHe could have started the vehicle with the key and then hit remote start and removed the key and been able to lock the doors, which we showed him how, the first time they picked the vehicle up.I did tell her that when they find the vehicle that we can keep it overnight and program first thing in the morning and try it throughout the day to ensure it is workingHer response was "I will never use you guys again" and then hung up on me We put hundreds of these in and rarely have issuesWe offer a lifetime warranty on our work so we will definitely fix the remote starter on the vehicle if recoveredOnce again, we wouldhave to have over night in order to program when the vehicle is cold and keep throughout the day to make sure it is working properly before they take possession again.I wish them luck in finding their car, but the theft had nothing to do with us I request that this complaint be removed from record due to customer taking their own actions If he did try what we suggested and it didn't work, the car should have been brought back and left over night to have the problem taken care of immediatelyWe were not notified the remote starter still did not work properly We sympathize with the customer as having a car stolen is always frustratingThe news warns people everyday about all of the cars stolen in BillingsEspecially leaving them to warm up on cold days.We are prepared to get the remote starter programmed properly as soon as we have possession over nightWe guarantee our labor and will see that it works properly
