plumbing, plus all new fixtures.The home owner was suppling all the fixtures and it was my responsibility to install them with thenecessary materials and leave them in their proper working order.I do not remember when 1 finished, but the day I finished and left that house, every fixture was in properworking order. The home owner was happy and knew everything dealing with plumbing was complete.Sometime later, maybe 6 months, I do not know, I received a phone call from this home ownerinforming me that his tub faucet was leaking. I told him to call the manufacture on their 800 numberand tell them his issue and they would send him the replacement part that he would need for free. Ididn't hear back from him for several months and it was again to complain about the leaky tub faucet. Iwas a little surprised that he had let so much time go by before saying something to me again, but Iasked him if he had called the manufacture and he said he hadn't. I asked him again to call them andwhen it came in if he wanted me to replace the part I wasn't doing it for free. The part may be underwarranty but the labor wasn't.This is where our issue began. The home owner thinks it is my responsibility to replace this part, laborfree, because I installed the valve. I did not purchase this product or even recommend the product forthe home owner. My responsibility was to install the product he chose, according to local codes andmanufacture instructions. I did my job. It isn't my responsibility to warranty his product, just my work.Because his product starts to leak, is that a result of my work or his operating the handle turning it offand on.
