I took my elderly father to one of Dr.Ritters Denatl care facilities. I have a complaint against their Office Manager named E.J or Elisa. I asked her for a copy of my father's X-ray then she told me "if you were going some place else then why did you come here, just get out you and your father get out and don't return".
I stood there astonished. Then she goes to the room where the dentist was in the middle of doing a tooth extraction for my father. She yelled over my father's head while he was in the chair and said "Dr. Fundo can you believe this she wants our X-rays why doesn't she get them from the office she's going to! They can get and don't return!"
My father is sitting there with mouth full of blood. The dental hygienist and doctor were both present while the office manager behaved in this bizarre and quiet scary manner.
She had my 74 year old father sign a release and I gave her his email address to send him his X-ray done that day 3/*/16 at12pm. It is now 3/**/16 and my father has not received his X-ray.
I had to email a complaint and request for my father's X-ray from Dr. Ritter because he works in a office at another location and is probably not aware that he has an employee capable of this extreme misconduct. I called the NY state dental association they said it is illegal to withhold records from a patient and they have10 days to comply.
I'd like to make this clear. My complaint is towards the business office manager not the dentists. Hopefully when Dr. Ritter gets my email he will inform his employee of the patients right to receive their records and make it clear the she represents the business and her behavior reflects on the business. Hopefully no one will have to endure the humiliation and bullying my father and I receive from this staff member.
She was out of control. We were advised by NY State Dental Association to find another dentist and just don't go back there. I will not bring my father to this dental office again obviously.
