Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:I do not think that every cent that was spent ought to be returned; however, when I make a promise to someone I keep itUnfortunately multiple promises were made to me that were brokenI am a forgiving personI gave Jay's a second chance and was burned a second timeI'm not saying you did not do the workAll I am saying is that, if you advertise a month warranty period, stick to itSure there may have been miscommunication, but I never once agreed to pay on the second trip inTo be told that I cannot leave without paying while holding my car hostage in your garage is not acceptableLike you, my family is firstI needed to pick up my daughter and did not have time to discuss the billTony blamed it on you and you blame it on TonyAll I want is to be treated fairly, as I am sure you doI treat people with respect and live my life with integrityWhen someone tells me that "we cannot work on the car for free any longer", I agree to pick it up only to find a bill, I am upsetTo me it was a classic bait and switchLet me know what we can work outI do not like feeling stiffed or stiffing peopleIs there a figure that we could agree on?Sincerely,*** ***

So let me see if I got this straightYou asked for a engine tune up, disconnect the alarm and a check over so we did just like you askedWe found you needed brakes called you and you told us to fix themSo answer me a question here, did any of the repairs that WE DID cause your overheating? Answer me another question if you don't mindIf you drive your car for thousands of miles without any overheating would you be looking for or expecting overheating problems? You say "i don't think that every cent that was spent ought to be returned" yet you have called your bank card company and froze every cent you spent with ushummmI see no problems with the work that was done when you first came in, we did what you asked and there is nothing wrong with the work that we did so no you do not deserve any of the money backThe second time you came in my tech agreed to make adjustments to make the engine run right if neededThis agreement does not include testing the cat converters which you asked us to do does not include checking the horn or a oil change, correct? Now I will however return the that was charged for the rough idle because that was what you and he had agreed on, that is the only thing that was an error on our part and all you had to do was come in and explain the situation to me and this all never would have happenedI will return your money after you remove all of your post that you have written all over the web and release the money from the bank card company

On March 27th *** brought in his newly purchased Toyota Land cruiser with miles on it for an inspectionAfter inspecting, we found many problems that needed attention right awayWe found it was in bad need of a tune up, rear brakes (10% remaining), front knuckles needed to be rebuilt,
all shocks, spare tire was flat, oil level sensor was unplugged, and misc oil leaksAfter calling *** and giving him the results of the inspection and prices to repair he asked us to repair the rear brakes and do the engine tune up also he wanted the alarm disabledThe total would be $before tax we also decided not to charge him for the inspection which normally cost $120.00. We have a policy at our shop and that is we work for the customer and they are the bossNow $is a lot of money but we didn't do anything more then give *** the results of what we found and the prices to fix them and he decided what he wanted fixedNone of the repairs we did have anything to do with the overheatingAlso he drove the car a few thousand miles before his trip with no problems so he had no problem until he was in a hot environment, there was no way to see this comingAs far as not leaving him with a "operational vehicle" what is that supposed to mean? Was it not operational for what looks like thousand+ miles, was it not operational from Renton to eastern Washington do any of the repairs we did have anything to do with the cooling system.
*** I just want you to know that as much as you want to blame someone for your misfortune this type of problem is unpredictable and can happen without much warning to the point you may not have made it home from the shop if the car was overheating, much less near the miles you put on it. When you brought the Land Cruiser in after the other shop worked on it, you asked us to test the catalytic converters and the hornYou also asked us to find out why the idle was roughWhen you made the "gentlemen's agreement" with my mechanic to make sure the car was running perfectly then that's all you asked forThen when you dropped the car off you asked for other work that had nothing to do with that agreement (check catalytic converters, horn and mile service oil change) so you needed to pay for those repairsNow you have charged back every penny you spent (1800.00) because you feel that anything that happens to your car someone else should pay for even when all the repairs we did had nothing to do with the reason you needed a new engine

Complaint: ***I am rejecting this response because:Thank you for your offer to refund me $150; however, my pride is worth more than thatI was told that "your car would run fine for the foreseeable future." It broke down miles laer, I felt lied toRight on your website it states a month warrantee. I turned the other cheak and brought it back to you and was lied to againI had my keys and was out the door, when a wink and nod convinced me to get an oil changeThe oil change turned into $of work that I did not authorizeYou can refund me the $or I feel that people should know that your word is not worth anythingWhen I give someone my word, that is worth everythingI expect the same from a mechanicSincerely,*** ***
