*** ***’s dryer was diagnosed as stated in our previous response after I spoke to her over the phone when her daughter called her the first timeWhen you are told (by her daughter) that the dryer didn’t work from the day it was installed, I tried to find out if it was still under warrantyIf it was, I would have told them to call an authorized repair company and just leftThis did not happenRead my first response again*** *** was given the repair estimate from our diagnoses on the 2nd call to her from her daughterWe did not get the approval to go ahead with the repair at that timeThe written estimate was left with the service order ticket with the service call charge that was paidNo refund of any amount will be given for this service call

In Response to the complaint from [redacted] concerning the service call charged for the estimate to repair her Samsung electric dryer. I’ve attached the signed copy of the work order #3002 dated 01/**/2017 with the estimate for parts & labor of $270.00 + tax to replace the heating element...

assembly. The work order clearly states that the service call is “NONREFUNDABLE”. The customer declined the repair at the time of this service call and paid by check the service charge of $75.00 + Tax ($81.47). As for the events that [redacted] stated had occurred. They are not entirely correct. I say this because I was the Technician that ran this call. She was not home and I assume the adult male that answered the door was her son. That was the last I seen of him. I was escorted to the basement area and to the dryer by a young woman, I guess must be her daughter since she referred to [redacted] as her mother. She told me that the dryer was new and that it never worked properly, also that her mother felt it was installed incorrectly. I asked her when and who was it purchased from and who installed the dryer, because the repair could be covered by a warranty from an authorized service provider. She did not have this information so she called her mother to ask her. The call was made in my presence so when she tried to relay the questions about the dryer I could hear her start asking her the questions wrong. I then asked if I could talk to [redacted] and she handed the phone over to me. [redacted] then told me that the dryer wasn’t just purchased and installed, that it was 3 or 4 years old and has been in the same location since day one. I then told her that I’ll check the dryer out and call her back with a diagnoses and an estimate to repair the problem. The attached work order with repair estimate was given to [redacted]’s daughter and she called her mother and I spoke to her again and gave her the estimate for the repair. I then gave the phone back to her daughter. She spoke to her another minute then hung up. The daughter then said they would decide whether to repair or replace the dryer. I told her that the estimate would be honored for 30 days and that the service charge would be deducted from the final cost of the repair. I stand behind this estimate and service charge, and as stated on the signed work order. Service call is “NONREFUNDABLE”.

Please be aware, the person making this complaint did not contact our company for the repair of her washer and dryer. She is a customer of [redacted] Home Services. We repaired her appliances as a Service Provider for [redacted].   The following is a list of events of this...

repair:   1)-- 10/**/2016 We received the original service orders for the washer and dryer from [redacted] dispatch. With the service date of 10/**/2016, between 1-5 PM.          Cutomer called us to complain about this service date, being too long to wait. We obliged her by rescheduling her sevice appointment to 10/**/2016 ( 8 Days Earlier).     2)-- 10/**/2016 Arrivied at customers home at approx. 2:30PM. Found both washer and dryer needed parts for the repair.     3)-- 10/**/2016 Parts for both washer and dryer were orderd after getting [redacted] authorization.     4)--10/**/2016  Parts arrivied and inspected at our depot.   5) 10/**/2016 Our scheduling office contacted customer to set up a return appointment for next available date to complet the repair, of both washer and dryer. The agreed apon date and time was 10/**/2016      between 1-5 PM. In closing we feel that this complaint against our company is completly unjustified. The person making this complaint was treated fairly and respectfuly. She was moved up 8 days in our attempt to satisfy her wishes. If she has any issues with appliances repair. It should be with her EXTENDED Sevice agreement company [redacted].

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID# [redacted], and have determined that my complaint has NOT been resolved because:After reading the company's response, I am led to believe that the technician who came to my home is most likely the owner. He is trying to put his own spin on what occurred because he doesn't want to admit that he had NO idea if his "guesstimate"was going to fix the problem.  He told me on the phone that he wasn't sure that was really what was wrong with the dryer.  He stated that he would probably have to take it apart to be sure. I believe that is what he should have done during his service call. Why would I want to pay over $300 for a repair that may or may not have been the problem. I would have had the repair done if he had known what he was talking about. But...he didn't.  Going to someone's home and charging service fees when the repairman has NO real idea what is wrong with the appliance is just WRONG. I hate to think a small business has to do things like that to stay in business. I feel I got NOTHING for what I paid.  I didn't even get a correct diagnosis.  All I got what a guess...If he wants to be fair, I would accept a refund of $40.
