In Ms. [redacted] communication to your office, she asserts that she did not receive a stipend check in the amount of $1981 scheduled to be paid to her by September 20, 2015. Our campus was unaware that [redacted] did not receive the stipend check in September until receiving this communication from the Revdex.com. your inquiry regarding Medical Billing & Coding Specialist diploma student, [redacted] dated May 26, 2016. Brightwood College takes seriously any indication of student dissatisfaction and appreciates the opportunity to bring clarification to this matter.   In Ms. [redacted]’s communication to your office, she asserts that the college has erroneously charged her book fees and that she received an Incomplete grade for her externship.  Prior to receiving this complaint via the Revdex.com, Ms. [redacted] came to our campus to discuss the book charges and called our Student Finance Supervisor a liar and yelled profanities to our Student Finance Specialist before hanging up on her.      Since receiving the complaint Brightwood College took the following action: ·         On Friday May 27, 2016 it was identified that the Incomplete grade was due to a parent term issue so our Externship Coordinator manually calculated her externship hours and had our registrar team adjust the Incomplete grade to a passing grade.  Ms. [redacted] is now a graduate in our system as of Friday May 27, 2016. ·         On Friday May 27, 2016 [redacted], our Student Finance Supervisor, attempted to explain the book charges to Ms. [redacted] but she called him a liar and said she did not want to hear his explanation when he offered to show her the policies in the catalog. On Tuesday May 31, 2016 and Wednesday June 1, 2016 I attempted to contact Ms. [redacted] to explain the book charges but had to leave a message.  I followed up with an email to return my phone call.     In result, we did find that the incomplete grade could be easily corrected and that the book charges she is referencing are legitimate.  In the Medical Billing and Coding Specialist Program book charges are incurred per term instead of up front like in the Medical Assistant Program as outlined in the attached Tuition and Fees policy from our Campus Catalog.  Also, book charges are not paid for directly to the school by VA funds like tuition and registrations fees are.  A book stipend is issued to the student per year by the VA to cover the cost of books.  Unfortunately, Ms. [redacted] does not want to pay these book charges out of pocket and believes that we are charging her incorrectly.    Brightwood College has followed all policies in accordance with the published catalog.  Accordingly, Ms. [redacted]’s incomplete grade issue was resolved on Friday May 27, 2016, upon notification of this concern and she is now one of our graduates.
