After many conversations with this customer and with the mechanic that installed the part, this issue appears to have been resolved There was never an issue with the part that we sold the customer, which was an engine, but with other issues with the vehicle that needed to be resolved through driving the vehicle After finally doing this, the "smoke issue" that was there has been cleared The issue was with the exhaust system from the failure of the original engine, not with the engine that we sold
