Review: Dear Representative:I joined Big Js gym this summer and paid for whole year up front. On 10/**/2014 I got an email from them they are closed. I was not given any prior notice. I went to gym but it was locked. Since I paid up front and only used gym for 6 months out of 12 months, I sent them an email asking refund for remaining months. I haven't heard from them at all. I would really appreciate if you could help me get back the refund. I don't want any money back for the months the gym was open.Regards,[redacted]Desired Settlement: I paid around $316 for months. I would like to have around half of the amount [depending upon exact number of days the gym was open] refunded.

Review: Lats monday, October [redacted], there was a sign on the door that the gym is closed, will not reopen. I was made to pay full year membership just shortly before, no one told any gym members that the gym would close. There is no way to get in touch with them or get refund. I'm a sudent, I lost $365. Please, help me me get my money back. If the gym was going to close, they should have charge me by month, not take a full year's membership. It was very dishonest, they basically stole the money from me.Desired Settlement: Please, make them give me prorated refund. Thank you!

Review: On march of 2014 I joined J's big gym. The person at the front desk said If I was to pay for the whole year the price for the membership would come out at a discount.

I paid for the whole year in advance, then a few months later on October 2014 I went to the gym one afternoon after work I went to the gym only to find a crowd of angry people standing at the entrance of the establishment angry and upset.

without any warning or notification the gym closed, taking not only my money, but everyone's'.

there was a sign on the door of the gym from the [redacted] saying that he would make amends to all his customers but I or anyone else I have spoken to haven't heard anything since October 2014 when the sign was left at the door.Desired Settlement: above all else, I feel that the [redacted] should be prosecuted for taking people's money.

Review: I signed up for a 3 month membership for Js Big Gym on August **, 2014 for $159. The gym closed without warning or detailed explanation on Monday October [redacted] 2014. This means my contract of service with the gym was ended at 1 month and 11 days out of my 3 months of paid service. The sign on the gym door indicating closure assured refunds would come. I emailed the [redacted] asking for details on how this would happen the day of and I have yet to receive and response.I am now filing this complaint with the Revdex.com. I have my customer copy of the transaction, bank statement, and picture or the notice indicating the gym is closed if needed.Desired Settlement: I'd like to be refunded for the remainder of my membership I paid for, the amount should be $87.30 for the remaining time of service I didn't have access to.

Review: I joined this gym on August *, 2014, paying $329.00 for a year's membership. I went out of town to study (I'm in grad school at NYU) from September 2014 - January 2015. Knowing I was going out of town, the gym offered me a 14 month membership for the price of 12 months. When I returned to New York City in February 2015, I went to the gym, only to discover it had been closed since October 2014. I knew this from a notice that was posted on their door indicating they'd been closed since October *, 2014. The notice also indicated they would contact all members to make arrangements regarding balances on memberships. I have never heard from the gym in this regard and there is no way to contact the [redacted] or staff.Desired Settlement: The business has a responsibility to refund me the portion of my membership from the date they closed, October *. $329.00 for fourteen months equals $23.50 a month. Times the twelve months remaining on my membership from their closure, they owe me $282.00. Thanks.

Review: Gym closed with no prior notice and no refund.Desired Settlement: I would like the remainder of my membership which I paid in full given back to me. I have 7months still owed to me.
