Review: Guy came out to cut the tree down in my yard .. got paid and never finished the job of removing the tree or fixing my neighbors gutter that he hit or the damage to my shrubs or any clean up whatsoever Have called and texted multiple times to get numerous excuses .. now I don't return calls or responses to textsDesired Settlement: To get the tree removed from the property , stump grinded , as well get the yard cleaned upMake repairs to neighbors gutters and replace damaged shrubs, grass and fence

Review: Jay was driving around offering his services and my wife employed him to cut down a tall laurel bush and a grapefruit tree. He and his worker cut down the tree and bush and left them in front of my house for the garbage collectors to take away 4 days later.

At this time my wife paid them. I warned her not to pay them until the work was completed and she thought Jay would be a man of his word.

We were promised that they would come back to remove the stumps "after they sat a little while". Well, a little while has turned into over 3 months.

My wife has called and texted numerous times and leaves messages that are not returned. I have called the number on his card and he asks to be contacted at another number, which is garbled, so you cannot make it out. Upon calling any combinations of what you might think the number could be- I did not reach Jay.

This business does not seem to be operating in good faith. He has not completed the job he was paid for and assured us he would do.

I would like to see completion of the job for which he was paid.

The lack of communication, ethics and services is a red flag for consumers.Desired Settlement: I would like to see this job completed. Correctly, professionally, safely and without further incident.If that means he hires a professional to complete the job correctly- so be it.

If he does not complete the job, then half of what I paid him should be restored to me, since he completed half of the job.

He came by the house, said his brother dropped dead on a job and he would be out the next Saturday to complete the job. He never came by. He never contacted me, never attempted to complete the job for which he was paid.I believe this person/business operates in bad faith.

Review: On Weds., July 23, 2014, [redacted] (owner of Jay's Tree Cutting, Trimming & Stump Grinding) offered to cut down a magnolia tree in my front yard for $800 which beat a competitor's price by $200. He stated that he would provide a contract and that we would not have to pay until the job was completed. My daughter discovered [redacted]'s company was not listed as a Louisiana corporation and asked if he was licensed and insured. He responded yes. It was later discovered that he is not. I believe his co-worker, [redacted] is also unlicensed and uninsured for tree removal. There was also a woman helper moving tree branches o the curb.We accepted his offer and he started work without providing a contract on Thursday, July 24, 2014. He was supposed to arrive at 9:00 and was one half hour late. I asked him for the contract and he said he forgot it but would bring it later. Before he and [redacted] even got started, they had to leave to go buy chains for his chainsaw. They were gone for approximately one hour. [redacted] got on the roof and trimmed branches near the roof. [redacted] used a pole saw to trim other branches. I believe that [redacted] and [redacted] left my property again. When they returned, they were accompanied by a man named "[redacted]" who was called by [redacted] to help him cut branches away from power lines and cable wires to my house. "[redacted]" drove up in a vehicle marked with something other than tree service; I believe it was income tax but am not certain. [redacted] climbed the tree and cut down some branches. He then got mad because [redacted] wasn't heeding his requests regarding safety ropes, climbed down the tree and left the job. Repeated requests for contract. [redacted] did not return to finish take down of tree when he said he would on several other dates/times. [redacted] was paid $500 (his definition of half the payment) after he asked for it to pay his workers. Hired another company to finish.[redacted]'s actions caused tree removal to cost $350 more than the lowest quote receivedDesired Settlement: [redacted] should be compensated for the trimming he did. I disagree that he did $500 worth of work in the couple of hours he was at my house. I have pictures that show what work he performed.I believe he did a $200 trim job. [redacted] and/or [redacted] also damaged newly installed plants from a professional licensed landscaper.

I went by there early one morning and his vehicles were parked on the street outside of the apartment building.

They cut the two trees as they said. They moved the trees to the front. No one ever came to pick them up. If you want to have the debris removed you will need to pay them AFTER the entire job is complete. Also, compare their price to another company before you start.

Jay and his crew cut down two Queen Palms in my front yard two weeks ago. They cracked my garden edging on both sides. They asked my father to help guide the rope when the tree fell. He helped, but fell in the process and broke his shoulder and tore his rotator cuff. He had surgery a week ago. Jay came and collected his cash from the ER where my father was being teated. Jay was supposed to come back and grind the stumps on three separate occasions and has not shown up. He will not return any phone calls.

Review: I was promised by Jay that he would complete a job including grinding a stump of a large palm tree which he did cut down (leaving a huge chunk of it in my yard), grinding the roots of a large stand of bamboo (which he partly removed leaving a HUGE mess in my front and back yards. He promised he'd come back but now refuses to answer my texts or telephone calls. He has not ground the stump or the roots and there is bamboo refuse all over the place. His brother, who works with him, showed up at 8 in the morning reeking of alcohol and drinking a beer,Desired Settlement: I would like the piece of palm tree trunk removed from my yard. I'd like the palm tree stump ground. I'd like ALL the bamboo and bamboo refuse to be removed from my property. I'd like the bamboo roots to be ground. This is what we agreed would be done.

Jay stopped at my house and gave me a free quote for my trees. Did everything I asked to do. They brought everything out to street. I had to do some cleanup after but not much. Had three of them so it went relatively fast but feel I got a good price.

Jay and his bro did cut bown a big oketree for me and they did a good job . I would use them any time. I have any tree work to do . Thank you jays ...

Jay came by with 1 helper, quickly trimmed my tree, raked and stacked the branches neatly for pickup. He was pleasant and explained just what he was doing as he went along. In about 30 minutes they cleaned up what had been a mess of branches into a nice canopy on my tree.

This company showed up uninvited to my property stating they had an agreement with previous owner to remove trees. We agreed on a price and he did the work. However, he did not grind the stumps and he did not clean the debris. He also removed bushes from yard. He was instructed to remove bushes from ground AND from property. HOWEVER, he did not dig them up he just cut the top off leaving the stump and root in the ground; and he left the entire bush on the front yard for several days until I had to pay someone else to remove.

He stated he would be there on multiple occasions, but never did and would not return repeated phone calls.

I recommend not doing business with this company. If you do, get a written contract and pay upon 100% completion.

I originally got a quote to trim three trees away from my house. When they showed up he told me we could go with that original quote but he also gave me quote to trim all the trees along my driveway and some other trees that were growing around my cable line. It was a fair price so I had him do all the trees. They also agreed to remove all of the branches, since the trash would not be picked up before Christmas. They completed everything pretty quickly, and did everything they said plus a little more. I would recommend them to anyone who needs trees trimmed.
