Review: "[redacted]" of JB Home Improvement had done good, reasonably priced work for me in past. I hired him again to lay a tiny floor in my galley kitchen, using laminate tiles I purchased at Home Depot. He completed the work and I paid him the agreed upon $214 by check on Aug. 21, 2012. Because the tile consists of dark colors and I don't wash my own floors, it wasn't till some time later that I realized that there was a sharply angled bump in it, in a heavily trafficked area, and I concluded that either he or his assistant had left a piece of scrap tile underneath the flooring. I called him and told him about it and he agreed in our phone conversation that this was something "that should not have happened." I reminded him of his admonishment when he laid the tile that it was quite delicate and I asked him when he could come back to fix it, because I had gone back to [redacted], bought another box of tiles for $45.83 in July 2013,so he could repair it. He told me he was so busy he could not get to it till the next week and I should call him back then. From Aug to approximately Nov., I called him at least 3 or 4 times leaving several voicemails but he refused to take my calls. In 2013 I had major interruptions because of the deaths and movements of my parents, followed by harshest winter ever. I called him again Apr 23; No answer/return call. This damage MUST BE repaired because I am trying to sell my house.Desired Settlement: I would like the floor repaired and completed, and financial compensation for the new box of tiles that I would not have needed to purchase had he done the job correctly the first time.
