JB Hunt Movers Reviews (%countItem)

I hired JB Hunt Movers LLC to move my household goods from Kansas City, MO to Monroe MI and they never showed up and took my deposit.
On November 12, 2019 I signed a quote JB Hunt movers LLC sent me in order to complete my household move from Missouri to Michigan, JB Hunt Movers took my deposit of $2318, but it said RW Movers on my bank statement. On December 2, 2019, I tried to contact the movers to verify everything and my email was returned as if the recipient did not exist, the website was gone, and the phone number I called would give a brief message and hang up. I have not been able to contact them to get a refund.

Desired Outcome

I did not receive any services promised and would like a full refund of my deposit.

JBHunt contracted our move (from MI to CO) to TR Moving Systems, Houston, TX who cheated us by using a truck which was not large enough.
I have 4 pages of a letter written to both JB Hunt and TR Moving Systems which gives details about both companies, and is extremely important to this case. It is imperative that you know that we have MANY of our household goods remaining in our garage at the house in Michigan from which we moved. We have PAID in full for these goods to be moved to Colorado, and they will do nothing about it. This means we must return to MI in the spring (we cannot go now due to my poor health plus the fact that we are pushing 80 years old), rent a truck to load up and drive back to CO to unload the remainder of our things, all at our additional expense. It is extremely important that you read the letters I have sent to both companies. How can I please get copies to you?

Desired Outcome

Either refund the money we are owed for the already paid-for goods, or send a truck to complete the move of these goods from MI to CO.

After booking and authorizing a deposit, service was cancelled the next day. They withdrew the funds the following week.
After booking and authorizing a deposit, service was cancelled the next day. They withdrew the funds the following week. The point of contact for the company was ***. She was the only poing of contact excluding "operations". After requesting a refund the phone number I had never rang through. They claim an A+ raiting from Revdex.com, but matching up the information it is only D+. I filed a fradulant charge with my bank, they took over handling the refund on around 11/14/19. On 12/9/19 they made another withdrawl from my bank account for an amount larger than what was initially approved. The Job No is JBXXXXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

I would like the original $1,400 deposit returned to me as well as the additional $1410 that was taken from me this week.

They took our money for deposit, called for pick-up that I did not schedule and now they email and phone number listed are bogus and not working.
Paid $1900 for deposit to move from OK to ME. I told the rep, ***, that I would schedule when we had a close date on our house. They called and said they would be here, but when I told them that I had scheduled, the woman got rude. I have tried to email both *** and *** Operations
Account Manager
JB HUNT MOVERS
(XXX) XXX XXXX Ext. 2
(XXX) XXX-XXXX

but their email is not found and the phone number does not work. My wife and I are both on Social Security and cannot afford to lose $1900. I want my deposit back and just be through with them. When I try to retrieve the estimate it will not let me stating the the move has been booked.

Desired Outcome

Like I stated, I want our deposit of $1900 returned immediately.

They underestimated services, was off by 100 cf and then charged $400 extra. Tried to resolve, they blocked my # and refused to answer calls or emails
When getting an estimate for my move on Nov. 19, 2019 *** told me if be charged if I went over. I then overestimated what I had to ensure that if anything I wouldn't be over charged. Day of the delivery the movers told me I was over by 100 cf which totalled up to $400 extra. I tried to contact JB Hunt, but it seemed all phone connections didn't work. I then tried another number and told them the issue. They immediately said I lied about my items and they are no longer held to the estimate. That was untrue and I emailed them proof. They would not answer my call again. In an email same day they said they saw the error and would discount services. I contacted them again through email and they wouldn't respond. I asked the contacted company One Way movers if they arranged something with JB Hunt and they said they never contacted them about that. So in order to get my furniture I had to pay $400 cashier's check. A box is also missing and that has not been resolved since I initially notified day of drop off Nov. 26,2019.

Desired Outcome

I would like a refund of $400 because JB Hunt underestimated the cost of the move to get the best estimate. This action led to One Way alleging I was over by 100 cf @ $4 a cf. This is an obvious racket.

Quoted move for $2400, charged $4253.58. Promised a different delivery date 5 times now. Waiting over 2 weeks for our property and believe it stolen
This is THE WORST moving experience ever!!! We hired JB Hunt Movers who outsourced the actual move to TransUnion *** Lines. We spoke with *** of JB Hunt and she quoted our move from San Diego Ca to Tampa Fl for $2400 for 272 cubic feet in the moving truck to accommodate our belongings. We had an employment location change and ended up needing to move to San Francisco Ca (8hr drive from San Diego). We notified Vianca the Operations Manager at Trans Union 3 days in advance from our pickup date of 9/20/19. Since our pick up, which took them 8HRS to pack a SMALL 1 BED APT, the price increased to $4253.58 almost DOUBLE the price for 2000 miles LESS of travel. We have paid an initial deposit of $1200 along with an additional $1521.79 when they picked up our stuff. We are left with a balance of $1521.79 upon delivery. When *** quoted us, we had a detailed conversation and questionnaire about all our belongings we planned on moving. The driver then informed us of the absurd cost increase being due to us needing an additional 153 cubic feet of space in the moving truck, even though we ended up taking less than we initially planned to when we were quoted. We were given a delivery date window between the followingMonday 9/23-Wednesday 9/25. They then changed the expected delivery to Wednesday 9/25- Friday 9/27. We had not received an update by Friday 9/27 so we started to call *** with JB Hunt. She didn't have an update and said she would have her boss call us back in 30 min. No one ever called us back. We called TransUnion and they said it would take 14-21 days to deliver to Florida. All of our paperwork and receipts say San Francisco was the intended delivery location. There was no communication between Vianca and the delivery team about our address change. We have called sooo many times to get some answers and left multiple voicemails and emails only to be ignored for days at a time. On Monday 9/30/19 Vianca finally picked up the phone saying "you calling 30 times a day isn't gonna get your stuff there any faster!" We feel if you're overcharging someone $4k for ANY service, you can at least pick up the phone and provide customer service! We were transferred to *** the Warehouse manager at Trans Union who said we'd have our stuff delivered by Tuesday 10/1/19, the following day he gave us a new delivery time by the end of Wednesday 10/2, that's 13 days that we've been sleeping on the floor, 13 days without our stuff, 13 days to make an 8 hour drive. We moved from SF to SD 2 years ago and it took that company 2 days to deliver our stuff, 2 DAYS! I told Vianca we may just fly out to their warehouse in San Fernando and rent a uhaul to bring it up ourselves, and in short she basically said be my guest. Keep in mind this is only to move a 1 bedroom apt, we don't have a lot of stuff so I can only imagine the nightmare it would be for the unsuspecting family moving their entire home. They are extremely rude, entitled, horrible customer service, horrible communication, and liars about their quoted price and delivery times. We were NEVER able to get a hold of a manager or supervisor. *** and *** will just forward our calls to voicemail and refuse to give us contact info to their superiors. It is now Wednesday October 2nd at 930pm. We have not received any calls about our delivery that was promised to us today between 6-7pm. This is the 4th time they've promised us a different delivery date. We went on yelp to write a terrible review about our experience with them , only to find there's been several other people with similar experiences of being charged double their quoted price and multiple weeks to receive their property. Since we have had such a hard time communicating with them, we are starting to feel like our property has been stolen along with our money we paid.

Desired Outcome

We would be seeking first and foremost, our property returned to us, and a FULL Refund of our money paid to JB Hunt Movers.

We hired JB Hunt to move us from Ellison Bay WI to the 4corners of CO. We have not recieved our belongings, no communication it has been 3 months.
We hired them on June 1, 2019 for a June 12th move. We prepaid as requested. They picked it up and using a 3rd party. We don't know how they hired someone who has changed their phone numbers and have not responded to us. It's September 13th and we do not have out belongings we have called the police, filed claims with DOT. We still don't have our stuff.

Desired Outcome

I would like my stuff delivered and some of our prepaid $5,000.00 refunded

JBHunt Movers quoted our move at one level, then increased the estimated cu ft two times, even though the list of goods actually decreased.
Don't trust this moving company! We hired JBHunt Movers to transport our household goods from Indiana to Virginia on August 14-16, 2019. JBHunt subcontracted the move to Hometown *** Lines LLC out of Owings Mills, MD, and the two companies worked together to rip us off. When talking with the JBHunt salesperson, ***, we reported every piece of furniture that would be moved. Her estimate of $4,409.00 for 900 cu ft was higher than the four other estimates we had received, but we believed her claim that the other companies were "low balling" us to get our business. Ha! A week after signing up, the scheduler from JBHunt called to tell us he wanted to be sure we had enough room on the truck, so he was going to schedule us for a truck to accommodate 1200 cu ft, "but don't worry, you won't pay for the extra space if you don't need it." He added another $960 to our original $1803 deposit. When the truck arrived, the driver walked through our house and told us within 5 minutes that we were looking at 1500 cu ft of goods! This seemed very unlikely, since we had eliminated a number of items from our original estimate and added no new items. When the truck was packed, we were amazed to see that our goods filled only 1/4-1/3 of the truck. (We have photo evidence.) The 26'X13'X8' truck could hold 2700 cu ft, so at 1/3 capacity, we were right at the 900 cu ft original estimate. We repeatedly told the driver that there was NO WAY we had 1500 cu ft, but he insisted that was our total and demanded the next installment of $2559.75. When the truck arrived in Virginia, we again insisted their numbers were wrong, but the driver refused to unload our goods without our signature and final check of $2559.21. With our possessions being held hostage, we decided to fight the battle after the fact. Big mistake! Bottom line is we paid a total of $7881.96 for a move that was quoted at $4409.00, even though the actual size of our load remained 900 cu ft, not 1500 cu ft. We have called JBHunt repeatedly, and salesperson *** has never returned our calls. We have been given a total runaround, and ultimately we have been told that we agreed to the charges when we accepted our goods and made the payment. Not true, but we are now left to pursue legal actions. Don't trust this company! They run a classic "bait and switch" operation!

Desired Outcome

We are willing to pay for moving the 900 cu ft of goods that were actually loaded in the truck and matched our original estimate. This amount should total $4,729.18 (9/15 of the $7,881.96 we were charged). This would mean we should be refunded $3,152.78.

I am extremely disappointed and inconvenienced by this service to the extent that I had to cancel this move at the last minute.
-I had booked this service for a long-distance move and storage from Charlottesville, VA to Columbus, OH.
-After my booking confirmation, I never received a call on my pick up date and time, I had to call in twice to get a response from your dispatch team.
-The dispatch operator confirmed that the driver would be in the X:XX-X:XX PM window on Saturday, July 27, 2018. The driver later called and also confirmed that he had another job and would be coming by evening to complete the pickup.
-The driver did not show up until 10:30 PM on Saturday and when requested to move the pick to Sunday since I live in an apartment complex and it may cause disturbance to other tenants, he told me that I will be charged extra since I was the one making a change.
-To avoid the extra cost, I decided to do the move and waited until 10:30 PM for the driver to show up.
-Once he arrived, after taking note of the move items he informed me that a "phone estimate" is not accurate and he will provide the final quote which he determined to be $3500, therefore, a balance of $2540 needed to be paid (minus the $960, already paid.)
-He also mentioned that there would an extra charge for the tape that will be used for the blanket wrap which the standard full service is supposed to cover.
-At 11:00 PM we decided to cancel this order since it is beyond reasonable and nowhere close to the estimate.
-I was left stranded on a weekend with no moving service available till Monday and had to cancel my flight as I was scheduled to move out by Monday afternoon.
-Lastly, I would like to mention here that the items quoted below should have been accommodated in the estimate provided. I have only 20 boxes (NOT 41 boxes) which made the revised quote of $3500 absolutely unacceptable.
-While confirming the order over the phone while booking I was told that I was still WAY below the minimum required space and could add in more articles if needed. Never was it mentioned that the driver will reassess and re-estimate the cost.
Product_Or_Service: Long Distance Moving/ Storage service
Order_Number: JBXXXXXXX

Desired Outcome

Refund I request a full refund of my deposit ($960) along with $700 for the inconvenience and cover the extra costs that I had to incur (last-minute movers + 2-month storage facility that was initially included in the binding contract).
