Having solved the issue of a damaged, hanging gutter with the strongest material available and the most likely to withstand the avalanche problem [redacted] has experienced I feel that I have held up to my commitment to quality service.  I will not install the snow clips at a potential cost of approximately $3000.00 at no charge to him to satisfy his complaint about service.  The only resolution I am willing to provide is to reimburse the cost of $500.00 to him for the work that was performed.  He gets free gutters, I'm out $500.00 and the next time a heavy snow falls and damages his free gutter he can start over with another company.

Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. I would like to state that I am willing in 48 months to return the $500.00 to [redacted] of JBC Roofing and Gutter if I find that the snow load from my roof  has not bent or damaged these new gutters sections that were installed on my house. This date of determination will start upon the receipt of the $500.00. I am not interested in taking advantage of anyone and since new gutters were installed, this $500.00 is not a reimbursement to me  but a collateralized warranty protection. Again, since the new gutters installed are of the same material as the original gutters that were bent from the snow, I fully expect these new gutters will need repair or replacement in the future since this install did not fix the original problem at all.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

[redacted] and [redacted]Concerning the gutter replacement that [redacted] did for [redacted] at the beginning of June.Originally he had contacted my company concerning a damaged gutter that was caused by the last heavysnow storm in May. I inspected the gutters from the ground because it...

was starting to rain and lightningwas present in the area on the day I made it out to his house. I determined that the gutter wasn’trepairable and needed to be replaced. Not having examined the gutter directly I assumed they werealuminum because of the way they were damaged. I told him that we use a pre-painted or primed steelgutter material that was stronger than the aluminum and that with gutter anchors screwed into the raftertails every 2ft it shouldn’t pull away again. He called me on the day of the installation and told me thecrew had told him the new gutters were the same material as the old gutters and were installed the sameway. He didn’t want to have to replace them again the next time there was a heavy snow event. I thentold him I would replace it for free if it happened again and would give him something in writing to thateffect knowing that there wasn’t any way to install them better that would make a difference. I gotextremely busy with the hail storm that hit the Highlands Ranch area at the beginning of June and timebecame precious. I haven’t had the time to get my invoices for jobs I have contracted to do out let aloneprovide him a guarantee on a job that I never contracted to do and never collected a penny for. I alsoexplained that I would allow my gutter sub-contract crew to do the work for him and let him pay themdirectly to save him money. I made no income from the gutter installation and have no contract with himto perform the work. The main point is that the gutter was damaged and needed to be fixed. That was done with the highestdegree of quality and with the best materials available. After further consideration I have determinedthat the best way to prevent the new gutter from being damaged is to install snow clips spaced every footfor the 65ft length of gutter, on each of 3 rows of tile up the slope from the eave. They would be staggeredbetween the rows on the tile roof. That would potentially keep heavy snow from sliding off the roof andpulling the gutters off again. There still isn’t any guarantee that it wouldn’t happen again. Acts of Godcan’t be foreseen, prevented, or guaranteed against damage. Since we never spoke after the day thegutters were replaced other than when he sent me a text message with his email address I didn’t remember to produce the document he required. His complaint from the Revdex.com states that he wants adocument with a guarantee or more anchors installed. Since additional anchors would be attached thefascia and not to the rafter tails the risk of the entire fascia being pulled off would be increased (I haveseen this happen when snow avalanches sliding off of solar panels). I would be glad to give him a quoteto install the snow clips or he can contract with another company to install them but after carefulconsideration I won’t be providing any guarantee it won’t happen again with or without them. Thegutters were damaged and replaced. That was the immediate issue.[redacted]
