the customer is complaining of was completed in May of in Western PennsylvaniaThe work included excavation of the premises and the laying of a French drain and re-grading part of the yardAs with any work of this type, the machines being used caused damage to the customer’s yard in the form of his grass being torn upThis damage is unavoidable when doing this type of work and the customer was well aware that it would happenAfter the work was completed, our company spread top soil over the affected areas, planted grass seed, and covered it with mushroom manureContrary to the customer’s complaint, we did not just “throw down some grass seed on top of compacted dirt.” We put down good top soil before planting the seed, just as we have with any other job our company has completedBefore leaving the job, the customer remarked multiple times how pleased he was with the work we performedThe customer said he would be leaving for vacation days after we completed the jobOur company clearly informed the customer that the newly planted grass would need to be watered regularly in order for it to growThis past May was unusually hot and dry for Western PennsylvaniaThe customer went on his vacation and never watered the grassThere was hardly any rain during the period after the job was completedTo no surprise, the grass did not grow in 100% because of a lack of waterBased upon pictures taken by the customer, it appears that the majority of the grass did grow inHowever, the customer is dissatisfied because it did not fill in completely, due to a lack of waterOur company completed the entire job in a workmanlike manner, using methods widely accepted in our field of workOur company has completed countless jobs and re-seeded in the same manner as this customerCustomers have always been satisfied with the resultOur company completed this job in a professional manner and properly planted grass seed as we have done many times beforeWe put down the top soil, seed, and manure, but we cannot control the weatherThe customer was instructed on what would happen if he did not water the seedHe did not water the area and as a result, the grass did not come in fullyOur company held up our end of the deal and did all the work agreed uponIt is unfortunate that the customer is dissatisfied and felt the need to file this complaint, but we are not at faultWe did the work properly, professionally, and did everything in our power to ensure a satisfactory job.Sent on: 8/25/12:35:PM
