In response to the complaint from a client on 5/11/2016.I would first like to start off by saying that there is always that one client that no matter what you try to do, you can never please them I gave my client a verbal estimate of $labor for painting her metal roof and painting the exterior of her house, except for the front porch and doors, which were to be replacedThis was an excellent deal for the amount of prep work involvedAgain, this was a verbal estimate for the paint job not a bid I made it very clear to her, in the beginning, that replacement of water damaged boards would be an extra cost of my time and materials because this was carpentry, not paintingAfter scraping, sanding, caulking, priming and painting the house, I identified boards on the siding, soffit, and facia that needed to be replacedThese boards where so water damaged that I could poke my finger through the rotten woodThere was no way I could apply paint to that surface, so they remained unpainted In the end she only paid me $for my labor, I spent $of my own money for materials, she was supposed to supply I never finished the front porch roof because she never supplied me with the paint to finish I asked her to please bring me the rest of the money owed for the paint job, but she was irate that I wouldn't replace all the rotten board and paint the front porch for my estimate All of my jobs and with over years experience I do for my clients are estimates, I never give bids on a job because my clients know that there are always unforeseen costs With this being said, I gave her days to pay her debt for my painting labor or I would attach a mechanics lien on her house for the money owed This is when she got even more mad and decided to report me to the Revdex.comThank you for your time and sorry you have to deal with such nonsense.Rob Canfield

Mr***,
I understand the frustrations of trying to purchase a house and having work done to it and then losing it and being out moneyYou did in fact give us cash, although it was $1,000.00, not $and we bid the job for $3,000.00, but you could only give us the initial $1,when we
first went out there, and later refused to sign a contract with usWe had agreed that each time out there you would give us a little more to cover the costhours worth of labor was spent on the property (five people at two hours each)If we charge hourly (which if a job is cancelled after started we prorate it to include labor spent) it is $an hour which would be $We had $worth of metal that was completely cut to fit the roof we were going to be fixing, so it is unusable on any other job so we are completely out the money for that and that's not including the cans of roofing tar, the nails used and repair that needed to be done when we first got there or the moss removal that our starting rate for is $All in all we are out $just including the cost of labor, metal (because it is unusable), roofing tar and the moss removal since you did give us the initial $1,At no point in time has a refund check been issued, Blake or anyone else associated with JBS Roofing Perfected, LLC made any promise of refund or made any appointment with you to hand over a refund checkAs I said before, I do understand how frustrating it can be and I am extremely sorry you were unable to take possession of the propertyHowever, since we have already spent more than what was received on the job that was started we are unable to give you any sort of refund but will be more than willing to give you the metal that was cut for you as previously discussedIf there is anything else I can do for you, please call or email.

I have attached photos of the cancelled checks that total I never received a receipt for the of supplies he refers toI supplied the paintI have attached the text that I tell Canfield that he can use our *** account to buy the "supplies" he neededI have attached photos of the trim that he never painted and the roof that he never paintedI am out the extra that I had to pay someone else to paint. All I ever asked him to do was to finish the job he said he would do, I paid him before he started the job and before he finished itI would not have gone to Revdex.com except he made threats to me and I had to take action, I have everything photoed and documented.I have two witnesses who will say that he did the same thing to them too, as well as someone who worked with him on another jobThis is how he does business and it is unethical and needs to stop
I have reviewed the response offer made by the business in reference to complaint ID ***, and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below

In response to the complaint from a client on 5/11/2016.I would first like to start off by saying that there is always that one client that no matter what you try to do, you can never please them.  I gave my client a verbal estimate of $1400.00 labor for painting her metal roof and painting the...

exterior of her house, except for the front porch and doors, which were to be replaced. This was an excellent deal for the amount of prep work involved. Again, this was a verbal estimate for the paint job not a bid.  I made it very clear to her, in the beginning, that replacement of water damaged boards would be an extra cost of my time and materials because this was carpentry, not painting. After scraping, sanding, caulking, priming and painting the house, I identified 26 boards on the siding, soffit, and facia that needed to be replaced. These boards where so water damaged that I could poke my finger through the rotten wood. There was no way I could apply paint to that surface, so they remained unpainted.  In the end she only paid me $900.00 for my labor,  I spent $100.00 of my own money for materials, she was supposed to supply.  I never finished the front porch roof because she never supplied me with the paint to finish.  I asked her to please bring me the rest of the money owed for the paint job, but she was irate that I wouldn't replace all the rotten board and paint the front porch for my estimate    All of my jobs and with over 25 years experience I do for my clients are estimates, I never give bids on a job because my clients know that there are always unforeseen costs.  With this being said, I gave her 30 days to pay her debt for my painting labor or I would attach a mechanics lien on her house for the money owed.  This is when she got even more mad and decided to report me to the Revdex.com. Thank you for your time and sorry you have to deal with such nonsense.Rob Canfield
