J.C. Greenya Reviews (2)

Review: I took a beautiful necklace of white and black pearls to be re-strung to Greenya's jewelers in July, 2013.(The necklace belonged to my mother and I received it from my brother who purchased it for over $300.00.) I went to pick them up in August and the clasp was inferior and difficult to take the necklace on and off. I paid $27.00 for the service and went back the day after I picked the necklace up explaining that I needed a lobster clasp, making it much easier to take the jewelry on and off. The jeweler agreed to replace the clasp and he verbally agreed that there would not be a payment. He was away several weeks in August and September. There was a note on his door that he would return on October 2, when I returned. He told me that he did not have it completed because when he was changing the clasp and putting the new one on, the other end broke, making it necessary for him to re-string the entire necklace again. I told him that he had agreed on "no charge" to replace the clasp, however he told me that, "It takes a lot of time to re-string a necklace". I reminded him that I did not do this, he did. I told him that I didn't feel there should be an additional charge, however he replied, "I'll try to make it minimal." He will call me when this is repaired.Desired Settlement: The Jeweler should finish the job, repair and re-string the pearls that broke while he was trying to replace the new clasp. There should be no charge to me for this issue as this can always happen in the process of any repair. It is immoral for him to charge me again to re-string the pearls since he did it!
