My AC unit was not running I called J.C Heating & Cooling at 4:PM on a Tuesdayand they sent Matt & Mike out the next day at 8:amMatt was very friendly and assured me he would find out what the issue was and get me up and runningHe did a lot of troubleshooting and informed me of what and why he was performing certain testsMike showed up to help diagnose the issue and check out some other causesThey suggested a reasonable price quote to stop the issue from happening again and make the unit more efficientThey worked clean and were a pleasure to work withI would absolutely call them again and would recommend them to anyoneI called J.C Heating & Cooling because when I had a Heater problem in the winterI called H***n & instead of fixing the issue they tried to sell my wife a completely new unit for $8,I did not want to make the same mistake again since another company cam out and replaced a defective part for $These guys are local and really know their job

My complaint with this company is simply price gougingI needed a 40xcapacitor which costs no more than $20.00.This company charged me $for the partThe Friday night 7pm service call was $for a total of $which I paid for cashI asked the tech why are you charging me so much for a part that costs less then $bucks, he didn't have a logical answer just blamed it on MrJoseph C*** President of JC Heating IncWouldn't this company want to keep their customers as clients and enroll in their service contracts? I would never recommend this company or use them again, they are greedy swindlers who over charge their customersI'm a dissatisfied customer

Complaint: ***
I am rejecting this response
because:
I do have the ITEMIZED invoice from JC HeatingPerhaps *** should check with his staff first before sending his previous written reply.
To help *** on this matter, I have attached the invoice from *** (the staff at JC Heating I dealt with on this matter prior to file this Revdex.com complaint).
*** has sent me the invoice times --one on July and the other on Sept They are identical except that the July 10's copy has handwritten note from ***
In the ITEMIZED invoice, it is clearly indicated that the Unit Price of the Compressor being replaced is $I did not asked JC Heating company to be responsible for how much the manufacture reimburse meI merely ask JC Heating company to provide verifiable evidence that they have paid the manufacture &for the compressionThen I can deal with the manufacture myselfInstead, I have not been able to get any evidence from JC Heating that's what they paid the manufactureIn my original complaint through Revdex.com, I have already described the excuses JC Heating gave meI do not know why *** need to repeat the first excuse I got from them even though I already indicated that I have itemized invoice from them.
I hope to get a meaningful response from *** that deal with the issue, not another excuse they already used
Regards,

07/09/I am in receipt of your letter regarding *** *** complaintUpon review of your letter and *** *** file the following is noted. On or about Nov11, *** *** purchase a new heater from JC Heating as noted in his letter*** *** was offer a two
year free JC Heating service agreement if he purchase his home heating oil from JC Heating on our automatic delivery plan (copy of offer enclosed), not if he purchase our heater*** *** signed an automatic delivery agreement for JC Heating to deliver his oil at our posted price on the date of delivery, copy of agreement enclosed).I fully explained at the time of purchased to *** *** that our automatic delivery price is higher than our cod cash price, which he was used to payingThe higher price covers the cost of automatic delivery, deferred credit payment etc.JC Heating honored our service agreement and warranties and performed a number of service calls free of chargeThe price of oil we delivered to *** *** home was the same price we deliver to all of our automatic customers and was not increased special for him as implied in his letter. Our oil prices did rise this winter in response to cold weather and world oil prices as noted in *** *** letterI do not understand why he thinks he is entitled to a refund for a service agreement that was free and he never paid for.If you have any questions, please feel free to call me any time.Sincerely,

I am in receipt of your complaint regarding *** *** Inspection report for *** *** **Bristol Pa19007Please find enclosed a copy of our inspection report dated July 31, stating the heater and chimney did not passAfter repairs made to the property by the property owner,
(he had installed a stainless chimney liner), The property owner was required to obtain a building permit and have the building code Official inspect the installationThe code violation as stated in our report and his complaint for the chimney is the result of his improper chimney liner installation, all it needed was a simple Sheat shield in order to meet codeA second inspection was performed by JC Heating on August 23, JC Heating provide an inspection report for the oil burner chimney and burner and controlsThis was an visual inspection report and not a Chimney Certification and or a Heater Certification or a inspection for code violationsThe oil tank system, oil lines and electrical system was not part of our inspection and are not mention in the reportWe only inspected the oil chimney and burner and controls for working operationAs per the enclosed copies of our inspection reports there is no mention that the Chimney or Heater were up to NFPA CodesBoth the home owner and Bristol Township accepted our reports without question. Please note: JC Heating did not install or make any repairs to the heating system or oil chimneyWhen this heater was installed or the oil chimney relined it was the property owner responsibility to obtain a building permit and have the heating system inspected by the locale authority having jurisdiction(township building inspector) to inspect the new heating system and chimney liner for proper installation and any code violationsJC Heating does not accept responsibility for a heating system or chimney that we did not install or repair or installations and repairs made by others.Locale Township inspection formats have changed (Bristol Townships as others now require notification of code violations) and Building Codes have change since and as of result of all these changes, when we inspected the home on November 9, our inspection report indicated the Code Violations as per NFPA Code Edition See enclosed inspection reportAgain JC Heating does not certify any heating system and or chimney, we only report what we observe in our visible inspectionAs noted in all of our inspection reports, they are not a certification or a certification of fire worthiness or safetyFurther our inspection report States this LETTER IS SUPPLIED ON FACE VALUE is not to be consider a warranty of any type, nor an inducement or recommendation to purchase any property. We performed an inspection was on 11/8/2016, a verbal report was given to the property owner on 11/9/and a written report was mailed to him on 11/9/and he personally pick up a copy of the report in our office on 11/10/as stated in his complaintJC Heating has not delayed the report in any manner as he misstated in the complaintOur report is Clear there are violations and the violations are not Our fault.I spent a lot of time explaining the code requirements with the property owner and how to make the proper repairsThe following week afterwards he informed me, that he made the repairs and upgrades to correct the violations that we recommended, himself for the cost of S100.00.Please Note: JC Heating has not verified if any repairs have been made.Section of the Mechanical Code requires the property owner who desires to install, alter, or repair any mechanical system, shall first make application to the code official and obtain the required permit for the work.Section Inspection and testingThe code official shall make a final inspection upon completion of the alteration or repair.Mr*** demanded that we change our November 9, report as he claims he cannot sell his houseWe are unwilling to falsify any report on his code violations or conspire with him to deceive the locale township or any new home buyer.2Upon obtaining the required building permit for the alterations he made to correct the code violations and having the proper inspection by the code official, I see no reasons that the home owner could not proceed with the sale of his home. Please note: JC Heating charges for any inspection and or reinspectionsIt takes time and money to send a service man to a customer's home to inspect and prepare reportsThe property owner thinks we should provide upgrades and repairs to correct his violations for the installations that were not made by JC Heating and or re-inspect his repair work for free. Not fairIn Closing:Mr*** has misstated the facts in his COmplaint to the Revdex.com, stating we certified his heater and chimney in when we did not, as you can see by the enclosed reports, we simply made a visual inspectionJC Heating never made any such statements that we certified the heater or chimney in the reports.Mr*** has misstated the facts in his Complaint to the Revdex.com that our reports stated the heater and chimney were up to the NFPA Codes, as you can see by the enclosed reports from 2012, JC Heating never made any such statement in the reports.Mr*** is a Business Man and Landlord, as a Landlord it is his responsibility to do his  Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:
No resolution was provided.  J.C. heating did not provide a service.  They gave a diagnosis of the problem which was wrong causing me to have to call another service company to diagnose the situation correctly.  I had to pay twice for a service that should have been done correctly the first time.
I was not the one that hung up the phone.  I was trying to work out a solution to the situation amicably.  The  J.C. heating Service manager hung up the phone while I was in mid-conversation.
I have spent several hundred dollars over the years with J.C. Heating and if this is the way the president talks about his clients I will make sure I advise my neighbors of the lousy service so they don't have to deal with a business that doesn't respect its customers.
Attached is the Diagnosis from the second company (Harris) I had look at the unit that states the equipment is working properly.
I want my money back!
Regards,
[redacted]

Review: I recently had J.C. Heating out to repair my Humidifier. I was told by JC Heating that the unit needed $500 worth of repairs to fix the issue. The unit brand new is only $200. I called a second HVAC company in for a second opinion. The second repair shop told me there is nothing wrong with the unit it just needs a new water pad. I called J.C. Heating and was transferred to a manager who was abrupt, told me I wasn't getting a refund and hung up the phone. I believe J.C. heating was trying to rip me off by telling me I needed parts and labor for services that weren't needed. In addition I don't feel that I should pay $90 for a diagnosis that was inaccurate and false.Desired Settlement: I wan't a refund. I would also like an apology from the service manager who abruptly hung up on me. After all I am the customer.

Thanks,

Business

04/1/2014I am in receipt of your letter regarding **. [redacted]'s complaint. Upon review of your letter and **. [redacted]'s file the following is noted. On or about 2/27/2014, [redacted]'s called requesting a service call, stating that her Humidifier was not working and the house was extremely dry. [redacted] was informed that there would be a service charge of $89.00 to cover the trip charge to bring a service man to her home and inspect the humidifier. She also stated that their home had well water that the water was extremely hard. She was concerned that the hard water may have damaged the humidifier.Upon inspection of the humidifier the service man found that the water pad was defective and covered with minerals, also the water fill valve was working, however it was delivering a lower than normal amount of water. This was why the humidifier was not keeping up with the requirements of the house.Recommendations: Our service man recommended a water filter to handle the hard water problem, the replacement of the water fill valve and the replacement of the water pad. He removed the pad and disconnected the wiring going to the humidifier to prevent damage to the heater. Review: [redacted]

I am rejecting this response because:

Review: J.C. Heating Inc. was hired to fix my heat pump on 07/05/2013. They charged $839.80 for a compressor part that is under warranty, but they only reimburse me $532.16. They overcharged me for $307.64. The excuses of this extra charge range from (chronically) 'they don't provide itemizes invoice' to 'they cannot responsible for the amount of money the manufacture reimburses' to 'The extra charge was for shipping, handling and paperwork needed for processing the warranty'' to 'they personally drove their truck to the dealer to pick up the compressor'. Except the last excuse which should already be included in the labor cost (another item they charged), all others were proven to be false. I have request them to provide an invoice for the price they paid to the manufacturer for the compressor just to give them the benefit of doubt, but they have yet to provide that information to me after 3 months. The company's billing practice is dishonest.Desired Settlement: The company should abandon their dishonest billing practice in the future.

Review: Deceptive Business Practice

My Issue is that I purchased a new Oil Burner Heating system from the Owner at JC Heating and Cooling located at [redacted] – [redacted] Pa [redacted], Phone ###-###-####.I purchased the system From the owner and President [redacted] on 11-10-2012 (the week end of Hurricane Sandy) my 50 year old unit broke down, [redacted] came to the house and we worked out a deal and part of the purchase of the new system [redacted] was giving me at NO Charge a Free 2 year service contract with no additional cost to me if I purchased the heater (oil burner ) from him and there would not be any additional cost to me what’s so ever this came from [redacted] sitting at my dining room table the only thing I needed to do was to be set up on automatic delivery for oil I asked him if they would except a check at time of delivery and he told me yes I could even take 30 days to pay since I was becoming a customer of his I told him that that was not necessary I would be more than happy to pay at time of delivery. After the heater was installed they sent an oil truck to fill my tank at that time they left a bill in the mailbox and the oil was being marked up from$3.19 to $3.99 per gallon I called Joes office and got Joe on the phone he said that they mark the oil up to Cover the FREE Service Agreement, I explained to him that was not what I agreed to on the contract or at time of purchase of the heater he told me and I Quote “YOU SHOULD HAVE KNOWN BETTER NOTHING IS FOR FREE “he has told me this multiple times he has also stated that I Never asked if there was a surcharge for the oil FOR THE FREE NO CHARGE SERVICE AGREEMENT that turns out to have a extremely high cost based on the .70 to.90 cent surcharge per gallon I have spoken to Joe about this after the first week and the first delivery of oil and we came to a short term verbal agreement that he would discount the oil .20 cents per gallon but that was only for 1 delivery and has marked the oil up higher than the normal surcharge as you will see on 2 of the last oil bills and there have been more in between these 2 I am sending ,the bill in February he marked up and never gave me the discount so I deducted it and nothing was said he even broke it out on the following invoice on oil that was delivered on 3/5/2014 as you can see he delivered the oil in his hand writing and his sig next to the price he marked it up to $4.359 brought it down on the metered part of the bill $4.159 so he is marking it up Higher to give it back also called his office every time I got an oil delivery and spoke to Linda in the office to get the posted rate for over 150 gallons and 2 hours after they delivered the oil on 3/5/2014 the posted rate was $3.569 per linda, you will also notice he is putting on the bill .20 cent discount. The long and short of it here is that he is charging me a premium for oil to cover the 2 year free service agreement I should not be paying for this and would like a full refund for the agreement and the oil surcharge .You will also notice in the documents there is nothing mentioned about the higher price for oil just that I had to get it from them very deceptive business practices

If I would have went to him to purchase a service agreement and that was part of the price was to pay a higher amount I would understand and that would be my choice this was given to me at No Charge and there should not be any additional cost to me at all.

Thanks

I can email documents mentioned above if needed.Desired Settlement: Looking for a refund on the 2 year service contract ($539.98) and the surcharged oil that he charged me .

oil surcharge depending on bill and how he felt that day he told me he makes it up sometimes its .70 cents or .90 cents

Upon review of your letter and [redacted] file the following is noted. On or about Nov. 11, 2013 [redacted] purchase a new heater from JC Heating as noted in his letter. [redacted] was offer a two year free JC Heating service agreement if he purchase his home heating oil from JC Heating on our automatic delivery plan (copy of offer enclosed), not if he purchase our heater. [redacted] signed an automatic delivery agreement for JC Heating to deliver his oil at our posted price on the date of delivery, copy of agreement enclosed).I fully explained at the time of purchased to [redacted] that our automatic delivery price is higher than our cod cash price, which he was used to paying. The higher price covers the cost of automatic delivery, deferred credit payment etc.JC Heating honored our service agreement and warranties and performed a number of service calls free of charge. The price of oil we delivered to [redacted] home was the same price we deliver to all of our automatic customers and was not increased special for him as implied in his letter. Our oil prices did rise this winter in response to cold weather and world oil prices as noted in [redacted] letter. My AC unit was not running . I called J.C Heating & Cooling at 4:30 PM on a Tuesday. and they sent Matt & Mike out the next day at 8:30 am. Matt was very friendly and assured me he would find out what the issue was and get me up and running. He did a lot of troubleshooting and informed me of what and why he was performing certain tests. Mike showed up to help diagnose the issue and check out some other causes. They suggested a reasonable price quote to stop the issue from happening again and make the unit more efficient. They worked clean and were a pleasure to work with. I would absolutely call them again and would recommend them to anyone. I called J.C Heating & Cooling. because when I had a Heater problem in the winter. I called H[redacted]n & instead of fixing the issue they tried to sell my wife a completely new unit for $8,000. I did not want to make the same mistake again since another company cam out and replaced a defective part for $300. These guys are local and really know their job.
