To whom it may concern,
I hired a mold contractor, Joshua M, for a mold remediation service in my residence on 10/2/2019 in my attic. The contractor quoted me $2800 to perform the job and when he arrived to my home, he stated the job was bigger than what he expected and it would be $3400 instead. He spent 4 hours to complete the job & there was visible mold after he stated he completed the service & I contacted him the same day to return and complete the job. The contractor returned and spent 5 minutes and brought with him a “*** primer spray paint” as he stated and that there was no more mold. I explained to him that there was visible mold all on the back if the attic. The contractor became defensive and stated he completed the job and there was no mold in the attic. After a home inspection and a mold assessment post his remediation job, both confirmed mold in over 20 square feet in the attic and that the job was done poorly and did not follow NYS protocols. The contractor did not have a mold assessment prior to the job and stated he did not need one when I asked him, which he should have required prior to starting the job and was not legally following the NYS Law in performing this service. According to the NYS labor department, he can be fined and ceased from services. Not only did I ask him to come back to complete it properly but I even contacted him multiple times via text with photos of his work. The contractor was unethical and his job is unacceptable .
On 10/2/2019, Mold contract, Joshua M, serviced my home in a mold remediation service of my Attic & after completing the service as he states he has, visible mold was Still present throughout the entire attic & a mold assessment and lab confirmed mold growth & presence afterwards. Mr. Joshua M provided a poor customer service from the start. He gave me an estimate of $2800 & after arrival to my home Changed the price to $3400. He spent 4 hours doing the remediation & after he left I contacted him to return due to visible mold I saw in the attic. He came back 2 days later and spent 5 minutes with a spray paint can of unknown product & stated “ it was a moisture stain”. A mold assessor evaluated the attic & gave me a report of the mold present & lab samples results confirming the mold and he stated that the contractor’s job was so poor and not to state illegal to do without a mold assessment done prior to his work.
A refund of $3,400 is requested.
11/1/2019To Whom it may concern, I received 4 separate leads from a lead generation site called *** and *** on September 27th & 28th 2019 from Mrs. *** from multiple names and addresses. When I reached Mrs. she knew that there was mold in her Attic and wanted it removed discreetly. Steps that were taken by Mrs. to keep this discreet were:1. Multiple names, phone numbers and addresses were used on a lead generation site.2. She requested a verbal estimate based on misleading pictures over the phone which was given to her with a verbal agreement to adjust the price if the mold exceeded what was described resulting in additional time, product and labor.3. She requested that my work van be parked in the garage to hide detection.4. She attempted to pay in cash to avoid a paper trail.5. Did not hire a NY Licensed Mold assessor prior to having this work conducted despite me suggesting she do so as it is required by law. I suspected this extensive effort was because she did not disclose a mold issue on her disclosure form when she listed her house despite knowing there was a mold issue although she never admitted this to me. Despite all these warning signs, I made the mistake of performing the work on her attic under these strange terms and conditions. I also installed a bathroom vent which I was not paid for. After a home inspection noted some visible suspect mold that remained in the attic. (Which can happen with the application of a stain remover product we use that continues to lift sub surface stains) Without warning, Mrs. emailed an onslaught of complaints to our corporate office, NY York State Department of Labor, Revdex.com and other agencies. She demanded her money back without giving me the opportunity to re-treat or fix my work which is guaranteed and warrantied. The buyers paid for a NY Assessment from a licensed NY assessor after the home inspection was completed which expanded the scope of work I performed beyond the original work that was provided with an agenda to make my company appear like we do spotty work, despite us being a multiple 5-star company with no previous complaints. I have made multiple attempts to contact Mrs. to open some dialog and discuss further action. I was never given an opportunity to honor our guarantee and warranty on our work which is extremely unfortunate.Mrs. has put considerable effort into tarnishing my personal or corporate reputation without providing me the opportunity to correct this situation. I have made every effort to communicate and address the situation to no avail. Though I would much prefer the opportunity to correct her concerns, I have elected to fully refund for the services I provided in order to bring closer to this issue. A bank check for $3,400.00 was mailed to her on November 1st. I hope my efforts to resolve this issue will be reciprocated by Mrs. removing the negative reviews and complaints. I am optimistic that you agree we have made every effort to resolve this issue in a proper and professional manner as we now consider this matter closed.Thank you very much, Josh MLicensed Mold Remediation Contractor
