My daughters 200.00 pageant dress had a little apple juice on it. I brought it in they gave it back with new stains and the dress is 4 shades lighter.
When I brought my daughters dress to be cleaned because she spilled a little apple juice on the front and I signed her up for a National pageant in June the lady told me they may not be able to get the juice out of the dress. When I went to pick it up there was a dark stain (almost looked like grease) across the front. They said they would try to get that out. When I went back to get it the dress for the second time it still had a very slight spot and the dress was no longer 1 solid color the skirt is white with a aqua hem (the color entire dress is supposed to be) and the top is a very pale blue and the beads that I had paid to have put on the dress are no longer blue either.
I went to the owner and he refunded the cost of the dry cleaning but refused to pay for the dress being destroyed! He said that he has never dealt with anyone so emotionally attached to an item of clothing and he doesn't understand how the dress is ruined. This is a competition dress this is not an everyday run of the mill Walmart dress. The color of the dress when I brought it in was Aqua, all around, the dress that was returned to me is a baby blue color top and white skirt you can't even tell it is the same dress. I have pictures of the before and after if you need them I am saving them just incase this has to go to court.
This was not the only item of clothing that was ruined during the cleaning. I also brought in a white gymboree tshirt as well that had a small orange chicken stain on the collar because this is a shirt that is worn under a tank top with only the collar and sleeves showing during the last round of the pageant. When I went to pick up the clothes there was a black stain the size of a silver dollar on the front right side of the shirt that shirt was $20.99. I am more than willing to forget about that even though it is part of a pageant outfit because the front of the shirt can not be seen so I am willing to let that part of it go. However the dress was super expensive and I have to get a new dress that is exactly the same as her dress was before it was destroyed and I have to pay extra to have everything rushed because I leave in June and to have a dress shipped in and have so many alterations done so fast it is going to cost me 90.00 more than the original cost!
I also would like to mention that the desk manager I believe her name is Lisa was extremely rude! When I called in to see if the owner was there she snapped at me that he was at lunch and she didn't know when he would be around. When I went in and spoke to the owner in person and told him this she was on the other side of the room and said "Oh WHATEVER" loudly then went and she stood behind him pretending to work shooting me dirty looks, huffing, giggling and rolling her eyes.
