JD Tax and Accounting Services

I was reffered to Jarel D by a mutual friend to consult him for tax purposes. I reached out to Jarel in January to schedule a meeting to review all tax document and proceed with the filing of taxes. We discuused payment options and how he would be compensated for his service. On Feburary 22nd following our in person meeting Jarel sent me over the rough draft of the returns he would submit. On Feburary 28th Jarel sent me my returns via *** for me to Sign and I electronically signed the documents for it to be mailed. 4 months later I received no mail from the IRS regarding my returns or refund so I reached out to Jarel to get clarification. His text message stated "I apologize for the hold up. Tax season is over in a few days. I will get to the bottom of it after it passes" Followed by another message "Hey *** I will resend the returns certified mail and send you a copy of the receipt. They should of received everything by now but I should of done a better job following up with you. I apologize for the inconvience"

On August 5th I received a letter in the mail from IRS stating "YOU DIDNT FILE A FORM 1040 TAX RETURN" . Along with this letter followed a delinquency form. I contacted the IRS via telephone and I was told No returns were filed which resulted in Penalties and fines!! I believe this was very unprofessional of him. I contacted jarel and his reponse was "i thought I sent them the first time around" No one should have to go through this and his unprofessional behavior is unacceptable
