JDI Specialty Contractors

I hired [redacted] of JDI Specialty Contractors back in [redacted] of [redacted] to build me a barn and to an addition to my house. I completely paid for the barn (20,000 roughly) and the roll up doors were never put on. The metal on outside the barn was never finished. The support for the roof is inadequate. I had paid him about $12,000 to start an addition to my house and about $2,500.00 worth of work was done and all of that had to be torn out. It would not pass [redacted] addition on houseAccount_Number: [redacted]Desired Settlement I have had a lawyer by the name of Mr. [redacted] write him a letter and ask for $14,615.00 to be refunded to me. We have not heard from Mr. [redacted] in any shape or form. It is my understanding he is not going to make any attempt to make things right in any form or fashion. Business Response This is response to a letter I received from your office in regards to a project for Mr. [redacted]. I agree that our company did do some work for Mr. [redacted] but the Barn project was started and designed by Mr. [redacted] , the Home Addition project was worked on as well but only as a labor supplier. Mr. [redacted] had / has a member of his church that is playing the role of construction manager , he has family members portraying contractors for different scopes of the project and a friend of his construction manager for the electrician . All together there was and is up to 8-10 different contractors the design has been changed 3 times prior to commencement and twice during construction . It was understood in the beginning that I am a commercial specialty contractor and that this would be a side job as to help Mr. [redacted] out , he and his wife wanted to speed things up and have been taken advantage of by a local contractor and are now searching out ways to recoup overages by any means necessary.
