This matter was already mediated and settled by various authorities, including *** and *** Proper testing was not performed, specifically in the form of "placing a penny through the throttle body." This kind of action was not just improper, but also extremely dangerousAccording to the buyer,
the engine experienced terminal damage in the form of a large hole breaking through the blockThis is only possible if the engine was over-revved and there was absolutely no need to place a penny behind the throttle body of a supposed terminal engine to raise its RPMsWe have consulted with many technicians on this matter and have received an overwhelming response of confusion and alarm that someone would risk their safety and workplace by doing such a thing and this would never be allowed in a professional shop environmentThis is an unfortunate matter, but once terminal damage such as this is caused (hole in block), there is very little recourse available because the block can only experience a terminal break-hole by excessive revving of the engineThis is why the warranty was nullified and a case with *** and *** was decided in our favorWe did try to assist the customer and offered him some alternatives but all were declined

Engines of any kind, high or low mileage, JDM or for the US domestic market or otherwise, require optimal oil and lubrication systemsIn this description given to us by the complainant over the phone as well as through message, the issue seems to have stemmed from engine seizure after months of
use, which is highly indicative of a less than adequate lubrication system, whether through low quality oil, not enough being installed, or extreme drivingSome engines will last years but require excellent and above-average maintenanceIt is unfortunate that the engine was not maintained but the warranty we offer is the strongest in the industryThis issue seemed to stem after the warranty was expired and at that pointno direct replacement could be givenWe did offer the customer a great discount on a future engine but it was declinedThis situation is rare but nonetheless handled appropriately given the warranty time and customer explanations over the phone regarding the lubrication system
