Customer was advised at time of purchase that icemaker was a special order item and that it is not subject to refund or returnWe have no other location, the unit came directly from the distributor who also does not accept returns on appliances as they are subject to the manufacturer warrantyWe have a sign posted in direct customer view stating our policies regarding special order and electrical itemsWe went above and beyond our responsibility in coordinating the warranty repair to this icemakerThe main reason the unit was at our facility for such a long length of time is due to the fact after we had set up the warranty repair unknown to us, the customer called the appliance service center and cancelled the repair order stating he wanted his money backWe only found this out upon calling the service center to check on the status of the warranty claimThe customer on several occasions called and yelled at our Parts manager demanding his money back, each time he was explained our policy as well as the manufactures warranty policy, each time he yelled that that was unacceptable and we were a terrible business for not refunding his moneyMany items fall under a manufacturers warranty and until the manufacturer or their designated service center has been given the opportunity to correct any issues there is little recourseWhen we found out the customer had cancelled the work order we reinitiated it so the service center could order the condenser fan that needed replacement within a week the icemaker was repaired, during this week the customer placed a call to myself demanding his money back, I politely explained how manufactures warranties are handled and the fact that I couldn't return the item to get my money or his returned he began insulting me as well as my business ethics and demanding his money back, I promptly and sternly told him that he was not getting his money back and I hung upAs soon as the warranty repairs were made to the icemaker the customer was called and advised that the unit was ready to be picked up, several days later he picked it up
