JE T'aime Bridal and Women's Boutique

Review: My daughter put a deposit to purchase a wedding dress from Je t'aime Bridal & Women's Boutique. They advised her that she wore size 8 based on her trying a size 10 in the shop. She had been to another bridal shop & every dress she tried on there was a size 6. Je t'aime insisted she was a size 8 according to the sizing chart they use & seamstress measurements. So a size 8 was ordered. Original purchase was 10/05/13. She was told she'd be notified with an approximate delivery date. At the beginning of November, with no response from Je t'aime, my daughter called, only for them to tell her the dress had not been ordered yet. Once the order was placed she was told to check back in a couple weeks. This went on multiple times from November to February. The wedding was 05/17/14, she did not receive the dress until April 8, 2014. She was told that the dress would be there in enough time to do alterations if needed. When received, the dress was obviously at least a size too big. Concerned about them doing the alterations in a timely matter, my daughter took the dress to an alternate alterations place. The lady there asked why she ordered the dress so big, if she had ordered a size 6 the dress would have fit with minimal alterations required. but these alterations, it would cost $350. She recommended my daughter return the dress & have them order the right size. With 4-5 weeks prior to the wedding, this is not an option considering how long it took them to get the dress to begin with. She went back to Je t'aime & they quoted $175. But the alterations lady is only there 2 days a week. We were finally able to see her 5/1/14. They would not work with us on the cost of this even after explaining the sizing issue at ordering. We had no choice but to do the alterations. Alterations were done & they cut it 1/2" too short, they said they would fix it, & do the bustles at the same time. Je t'aime said the dress would be complete & ready for pickup 5/15/14. Only for the to call & say now 5/16/14 at 6pm. CONTINUEDDesired Settlement: CONTINUEDWe picked up the dress 5/16/14. Wedding Day,the slip portion of the dress was not sewn with 11/2" still straight pinned across the entire thigh area Refund of full alterations, because the alterations were not completed. $177.58 I already tried to contact Je t'aime after the wedding to resolve the issue. We requested a refund & Je t'aime counter offered with, $20 for alterations that weren't completed, they would complete them, then clean & press the dress. Pointless weddings over.
