Finally after years of leaks on my flat roof I have no leaks! Jeff Alte Roofing fixed my Slate Barn Roof, took down a Porch Roof and put on a new Flat Roof on my Home, all in one day! And a Great jobCleaned up like nothing was ever done!

We own a warehouse off of route #22 in Somerset county N. J. After an extremely bad experience with an unregistered local roofer, we contacted Jeff Alte Roofing, Inc.
They gave us an estimate to re-do the poor job of prior contractor and provided an excellent job which was completed in the time promised. We will give this Company five stars and will continue to use them for all of our roofing work.

I am rejecting this response because:
1.  We have now spent in excess of $1,800 to fix the leaks in the roof (plus $300 for ceiling repairs caused by water) which were caused (according to another roofer) by poor workmanship when the roof was replaced.  Thus, not only has Jeff Alte failed to stand by its work, but apparently it was done poorly to begin with.
2. When our ceiling was leaking (with water dripping into the middle of our kitchen), Jeff Alte was completely non responsive for several days.  On the day that they were supposed to arrive (at 1:30), they never called to say they were running late.  My wife left a number of messages stating what time whe would be out of the house, giving her cell phone number so they can reach her, etc., but Jeff Alte never called.
3.  When I finally got in touch with them the next day, they claimed that they got tied up on other jobs and couldnt make it to our house and that their cell phones had died.  Later in the conversation, he claimed that they had showed up but no one was home.  I continue to doubt that they showed up as they left no note, never called, etc.  Also, he was completely unprofessional, swore at me and hung up on me. 
4.  Their website highlites that they offer "a personal 25-year guarantee"  (see http://www.jeffalteroofing.com/checklist.cfm) .  Now they refuse to honor that warranty. 
Despite having hired many contractors, plumbers, roofers, carpenters, etc., over the years, this is the first time I have ever filed a Revdex.com complaint against any company as I have never received such poor treatment from any company.

Review: Jeff Alte Roofing says they showed up to inspect my roof. They were instructed to place a courtesy call prior to performing the inspection but showed up on my property without permission. There was no inspection report given. Mr Alte has requested 400 for services I believe were never performed.Desired Settlement: Provide proof of inspection. Modify your billing practices

I am rejecting this response because:At no time did I say that it was ok to visit my home When myself or my Husband were not at home. I speciffically asked him to call prior to his visit. He said he would once the snow and ice had melted. As for having the contract for 1 week, this is not out of the ordinary, I was able to fax it back as soon as I had access to a fax machine. I have been recouperating from cervical spine surgery and would not want someone walking or working on my roof while I was sleeping or resting. We own an elderly Yorkie who is very protective of his home, and would have to relocated to another room while strangers were strolling the property. We have a roommate who was home on the the 30th and can attest to the fact that no one was at the house to perform a roof inspection. He most certainly would have been alerted to the noise and rukus of the dog and the work of roofers. The roof in question is northerly facing and snow and ice were still visable on the 30th. There were no footprints, debris, or materials found outside the house in particular on the pool cover which is directly below the roof. When he talked with my husband all he talked about was the flat roof adjacaent to the addition which is not in need of repair. We have canvased many other roofers and they feel it is absurd to be charges $400 for an estimate, and not be able to provide a solution. I would rather use the 400 for attorneys fees if necessary.[redacted]

Mr Alte states that I made threats is totaly inaccurate. I indicated that I would file a complaint with the Revdex.com, which I did, Here are the facts. 1. He was given clear and precise instructions to call before showing up on the property. 2. There was no report/findings provided, no documentation of time spent. 3. No solutions to the problem. A bill for $400 is fleecing the consumer. I should have paid more attention to the negative reviews on many internet websites documenting his lack of concern or care for the customer. Unethical business pratices.

Review: Aprroximately 3 years ago, Jeff Alte replaced half of our roof. The roof is now leaking with water dripping into the kitchen. After 2 days of calling, they finally returnd a call and scheuled to come out on tuesday at 1:30 pm. They never showed up and we called multiple tmes and left messages for them. They never responded to calls. After leaving multiple messages that were ignored, we finally got someone to pick up the phone on Wednesday. They said that they ran out of time on Tuesday and wouldn't be able to come out for another week (even though we have water dripping into our house. When I told them that was unacceptable, they said to go elsewhere. When I pointed out that their website says that they offer a "personal 25-year guarantee" they said a profanity to me and hung up the phone. We now are required to go find another roofer to fix whatever defect Jeff LAte caused and pay for repairs that they should be covering.Desired Settlement: We would like our roof fixed (or if someone else fixes Jeff Alte's mess, that Jeff Alte cover the cost of repairs.
