Jeff is a nice guy, but $450 to stop by for 30 min to hook up jumper cables to a sink and unfreeze a pipe? That's $900/hour. I'd look for another plumber if you don't want to get fleeced.
Met me at our income property, leak under the sink going yhrough to floor below. This was found to be due to loose connections that needed tightening. Job took 10-15 minutes max. Charged $ 200.00 and wanted to be paid on the spot. There was no notice of this kind of rate ahead of time. My plumber was unavailable so I used Bernard because they were available. He insisted that everyone charges like that. I'm happy to report that all plumbers do not charge 200 for walking through the door.
