I have had a very similar experience with Chris B., at Action MarineI contacted Chris around July 7, about my Bathat needed a new out drive and transom assyMy insurance was taking care of the repairAt the tune of just under $13,Chris was all too eager to do the jobHe said it would be a week jobI agreedBig mistake! To make a long story short, 1/to months later, I demanded my boat back due to the damages to my boat and trailer proof with pictures and receiptsNo new parts for my boat anywhere in the shop! You would expect after months the parts would have at least been ordered considering they were paid forHe displayed the same erratic behavior as he frequently does, foaming at the mouth, spitting and cursing at meI gave Chris $as a depositHe had nothing but excuses every time I asked him about my boatHe also tried to sell me the higher power engine laying in the corner of his shop It looked like it came over on Noah's Ark with his fork liftWhen I picked up the boat without the motor and complete out drive assythat he was too busy to give me, I had to go back a couple of days later to retrieve them and the rest of pieces that he pulled which I had to look around the shop for myself and finally found in all corners of the shopMy $prop was missing along with the boats factory fire extinguisher "AUTOMATIC MOUNTED IN ENGINE COMPARTMENT", numerous nuts and bolts and who knows what elseAfter picking up all of my old parts I asked him about the return of my money for the new parts and partial labor because all he did was remove the engine , out drive, and tran assyin the over months that it was thereMax 6hrsI would have gladly paid forNot $worth of labor, without a doubt He said he didn't have my money and told me to "do what you have to"I assumed he realized that I would have to sue him in order to get him to return my money so off to the attorney I goLow and be hold Chris Bhas several judgements against him to the tune of over $100,000! All I want is to at least get my money back for the parts that I paid for and never received and my prop backOf all the bad reviews across the internet this guy should not be permited to do bussiness ever againnot to mention the court cases and rap sheets Public information look it up
Fire in exhaust tube - MrBdiagnosed the problem as clogged exhaust riser MrBest it would cost $1,+ labor and would take to days to complete weeks later he called to say because of ex-corrosion, the motor would need to be machined or or replaced A motor would 4,but for more I would get more H.Pand all need parts would transfer from my old engine I gave MrB$4,on 7-21- He said the job would take to days On 9-28-MrBcalled and said the new engine required electronic ignition sys, and also needed a draw on laborI gave him another $1, As to date the boat is still not completed and significant damage occurred to the Bimini top, morins cover, switches, & gauges
On 5-27-I stopped at Action Marine Center-49th StNorth, Pinellas Park, FL Chris Bdiagnosed my boat for needing a new set of riser and elbows and repair of the starboard exhaust pipe He quoted "$for parts plus labor." At th

Do NOT take your boat to this place He kept our boat for over a year promising to have it ready every week He disappears for weeks at a time, doesn't return calls or texts The police station next door has been trying to shut him down due to all the complaints I'm not even certain the part on my engine are even my parts, he is a liar and a thief
I would give Action Marine in Pinellas Park, FL a zero rating if I couldChris Bis not only a liar but he's rude, nasty, under the influence of something and incompetentHe had my boat for over months! I dropped off my boat at Action Marine on July 7, After over months of excuses as to why my boat hadn't been repaired, on October 12, 2017, I picked my boat up literally in piecesWhen he pulled the engine the wires and hoses were cut and yanked from the boatI demanded the boat back at this point, all the while he begged me to leave it and promised to finish it in weeks on several occasionsI picked it up in worse condition than it was when I dropped it offI couldn't get the motor until Chris made his way to it through his very disorganized, utterly disgusting shop to pick it up with his forklift the following MondayI had to look all over Chris's shop to retrieve all of the parts but he still has my $dollar prop that he said was at the prop shop, most likely sold, and a lot of other parts missing or broken that I couldn't findI initially took it in to have the out drive and trans assembly replaced to the tune of over $12,I paid him up front almost $for a deposit for labor and partsHe never ordered the parts and the only labor he did was removing the engine, transom assemblyPlease don't take your boat to this low life or you'll be out of a lot of money and no boat repair as I amBoat and trailer were damaged, most of the damage had blue paint marks, same color as the fork lift, dents and gouges in boat and trailer, swim platform, broken lights, fenders badly bentHe's very difficult to contactHe doesn't answer his phone/texts, he's very seldom there and when he does respond he's very rude and sarcastic and appeared to be under the influence as he gets belligerent when you tell him you're taking your propertyHe's changed business names frequently due to the many judgements made against him from other customers who have had very similar experiencesI can't sue him for our money lost because he is a dead beat and has current judgements against him for over $100,already and he gets away with it by just changing business names and obviously no assets per attorneyPlease don't take your boat to this guy or you'll be out of a lot of money and no boat repair
Had them install a new engine from MerCruiserSpent over $12,000, including other workI had to push them to do the work; they made promises, and could not meet the time limits they actually setThey were paid for the installation, but when the motor turned out to be faulty (it was blowing smoke), they told me that they didn't have time to replace itHad to have it bone by a different repair facilityThese people are not timely nor are they reliableThey didn't even bother to register the new motor with MerCruiser, for the purposes of warrantyContacted them by telephone and requested that at least register the warrantyThey could not even provide the courtesy of replyHad to have another company do the registration on my behalfThen, it could only be registered for a one year warranty; not the three year warranty promisedSave yourself time and money, and go elsewhere for boat repairs in the StPetersburg areaI would rate them a zero if I could
