Jefferson Financial Credit Union Reviews (7)

I went to deposit rolled change into my account and the person REFUSED my deposit. Last time I checked, change is still a US currency exchange. The person at Jefferson told me they were not allowed to accept change any more. I asked her what did businesses do and was met with a blank stare. Really? Is this how they treat their customers?

Review: I purchased a used vehicle from Wholesale Auto Group INC on July 30, 2013 and the vehicle was financed by Jefferson Financial Credit Union. 52 days expired before the dealer called me and informed me that the sales tax was incorrectly figured and that I needed an additional $1500 in order for my vehicle to be registered. I told the dealer that I was going to contact the lien holder for to allow them to facilitate the transaction because I had no faith the dealership was practicing honest business sense. The approving loan officer [redacted] was notified of the problem via telephone message. I waited for a couple of hours for her to return my call which she never did so I went to the bank in person to see her. Once arriving at the bank I explained to her what the dealer explained to me in regards to the taxes which should have been included in the loan and she stated she needed to get in contact with her supervisor to get a decision on how to move forward. [redacted] called me back later that day which was September 20, 2013 and informed me that this was an issue between the dealer and I. The bank is the lien holder and showed absolutely no interest in assisting me in at the minimum of getting the required paperwork to either the DMV or a title company where I could pay the taxes directly and receive my license plate and registration. Since the bank paid the dealer up front for the vehicle it would appear that they have a vested interest in legally owning the property. [redacted] refuses to return my calls or assist me in getting the paperwork to the proper entity for me to register the vehicle I have already paid two car notes on. I have also filed a Revdex.com complaint against Wholesale Auto Group Kenner for their shoddy practices.Desired Settlement: My resolution is simple. the bank should get involved in ensuring the vehicle is titled and registered to the owner and bank and honor the signed contract. I will pay all fees associated with the sales tax and transferring the vehicle.

They can get you financed but when it comes to communication its like they hire anybody with no knowledge of whats going on.I purchased a car through them. The vehicle I purchased broke after 4 months. It costed a lot to get fixed causing me to have to reduce my insurance to liability which is not their fault but they raised my notes and the price of the car making it impossible to trade or sell. Here's my biggest problem, when I asked the lady on the phone if I put my car back under full coverage will my notes go back down.I was told NO,my notes would remain the same, that they will never go back down making it impossible for me to ever be able to pay the note and keep full coverage so to prevent any hassle I returned the car. Then they sue me and now threatening to garnish wages which is going to force me to file bankruptcy. When you sign with them you're signing your life away.I paid all my payments on time with no hassle for over 2 years.

Review: I made a mobile e-deposit on Saturday evening. While I know that this deposit would not be posted until Monday at the start of business, I also set up an ACH payment for a credit card, which also would have not posted until Monday at the start of business.I had $60 at the time of the deposit, the ACH payment was $50, and, knowing this deposit would be made first thing Monday, I looked at the $60 as being available to spend, which I did on Sunday.Well, on Monday morning at around 8:00, the deposit was not made, but all transactions went through, including the ACH payment, which caused three overdraft fees. An hour later, my deposit finally posted, but the overdraft charges remained.Upon going to the branch, the service representative (while pleasant) was unable to help, told me since this was no error of theirs, they could not refund these charges, and had me fill out an incident report. Two days later, I received a call from another service representative, who blamed me, said that there were explicit warnings about posting time in the disclosures. Upon reviewing the disclosures, it states most mobile deposits are done immediately, with a few that need to be further verified. At no time does this say that this may cause other transactions done AFTER this deposit to overdraft while waiting for verification.I bank with this credit union for the purpose of having a more personable and local experience, and yet, I was met with a stiffness and point blank "this is our policy" attitude than I have ever been met with from a larger national bank. When the rep told me she is the one who makes the "decision" this tells me that there is some leeway there, where she can help a good customer who obviously was not trying to game the system, but who just innocently made a "mistake" even though I don't agree with their process. Otherwise, there is no "decision" to be made.Desired Settlement: I would like the total of $75.00 refunded to me as a courtesy, but also as I don't feel that I was in the wrong here. I should not be charged because they decided to post a deposit an hour after putting all other transactions through, as I feel that this is done on purpose just to steal money from a customer. On top of that, I would like to see more of a commitment to customer service than what I have seen from this bank, to be on par with larger national banks.

Regards,

Credit card customer service is rude, condensending, and an all-in-all terror to deal with. After 15 days late, I recieved 37 calls in a week. Recieved a call 6 days after a payment that I was late for payment after verifying the amount to get caught up at the branch. Left instructions that I did not want to speak with a certain service rep. again and the next day had 3 voicemails from that rep.. They hreatened to sue after 25 days late on the same payment. Closed all accounts I had had at the branch for 5 years before Jefferson took over Neighbors.

Review: This credit union took over LACAP ,the LA. State Employees credit union. I left approximately $100.00 in my old LACAP acct. In 2015 I attempted to close this account because Jefferson Financial was taking money out every month as an "inactive account fee". Every time I called them they had another task for me to do before they would send me my money. Fill out a form and get it back to them, oops, it must be notarized, we need a copy of your drivers license, we never received your information send it again and the best," we don't have anyone by that name working here". The run around was very creative, meanwhile the were draining my account. This has been a $100.00 hard lesson. Protect yourself and do not so business with these people.Desired Settlement: I want my entire DOTD credit union account to be refunded to me.

Regards,

Review: Jefferson financial closed an account of which I was a joint owner without notification. They deemed the account inactive as it was opened for a minor ( my grandson) when statements were returned several years ago. I am an active member of this institution with all of my contact information being up to date. They turned the funds over to state of Louisiana unclaimed property department. Again I was never notified of any issues and I am listed as a person who would know the whereabouts of my grandson on the document signed when the account was opened ( October 2004)

I filed a written incident/ complaint at the home office with the branch manager, Ms C[redacted], on March 31 and requested a written response. I was told it would take 5-10 business days for a response. I have left 3 messages requesting update on the status of the complaint. Phone calls have not been returned. I have also sent a letter to the CEO explaining the issue. I want to know how and why this happened. I want to know why this financial institution did not do their due diligence in notifying all named owners on this account. I have received no return phone calls or written response to my inquiries.

Can you help?Desired Settlement: Written explanation as to why due diligence was not done before my account was closed and turned over to the state. Reimbursement of all cost, including the $5 membership fee, to me in requesting the money from the state. I sent the forms certified return receipt requested and I had to drive 246 miles to get SS card, birth Certificate and signature of my grandson's father. An apology is also requested for the unprofessional manner in which this has been handled
