we worked days took down trees after customer gave she said her husband left her and was living in a hotel down the road and she didnt know when she could pay the remainder when job was complete .we did all of worth of work I was not going to complete the job not noing if wed be
paid or not.she slandered my company on face book,I wrote her and email saying we would not put up with itshe said we were stealing from a vetern I donate money every year to vets,sherriffs department,tommorrows hope and jefferson county fairgrounds

Chris
came to my property at my request to bid for tree removal. HE chose the area
that he would clear and he chose the price that he would do the work for. He
wrote out a work order/receipt the day he was at my property. He wrote out
specifically that he would remove the unmarked trees and all underbrush from
the property lines on the SOUTH and WEST up to a makeshift
"table/bench". He stated and wrote out that he would complete the
work for the total of $4000.
I
gave Chris $1000 in the form of a check that day. He wrote on the receipt that
I should "Pay as I can".  Once he got the $1000 he did have some
people out on the property for 2 (TWO) days rather than the 4 he suggests.
During that time he did cut down some trees - certainly not 24 as he reports. I
can make a specific count if needed. NO underbrush was cleared. The trees were
left as long logs and the smaller branches piled up into large brush piles
which were to be burned. Chris or his crew were unable to get the wet green
brush to burn and so they dumped gasoline and OIL on the pile and my property
in the effort to get it to burn. This was still ineffective and so they left
those piles. In addition, the oil has contaminated my property in that area.
After
they did this tree cutting for a few hours each day for 2 days, we had a
snowfall which necessitated plowing. Chris told us that he was too busy with
the plowing to come finish the project but would be back out in the following
week. He never showed.
I
have numerous text messages that I sent to Chris starting in late March
2015 and early April 2015. In these texts, I asked him to return and finish he
work. He stated that he would need more money and if I gave him this he could
"have the project done in 2 days."
I
agreed to provide Chris with more money as he requested and as such I gave him
$1500 more by way of personal check which he cashed the same day. Chris never
did return to the property nor did he or anyone on his crew do any more work.
He chose the amount of work he would do and the price for which he would do it.
I do not think that he can then say that he got $2500 and did X amount of the
project and call it even. I sent numerous more texts to Chris after this asking
him to complete the project but he never responded and never came back to the
property to complete the contracted work.
The
written agreement was for the entire area cleared except the trees that have a
red ring around them and all underbrush cleared and burned. In exchange I would
pay $4000. When I started having trouble getting Chris and his crew to come out
to the property to complete the job is when I stopped giving him more money. I
am still willing to give him the rest of the money – which I have, and at no time
did I tell Chris that I could not or would not be paying him the full agreed
upon price.  I did however say that I
could not give him any additional money until the job was completed. I gave him
over 50% of the full price. He did not do anywhere near 50% of the job which he
said he would do.
I
absolutely DID write a review on his Facebook business page which is not
slander when the comments are true. I have also put written reviews on Google,
Angie’s List and Yelp. All detailing as above. This is not slander, only an
accurate representation of the work this company/person did or did not do and
the money which he took without doing the work required.
I
have not had any email from Chris or anyone from Jefferson Landscape in
response to my review on Facebook. Since I never got an email from Chris, I
certainly never responded to one. I would like to see Chris supply that
evidence if possible. I am more than happy to scan in copies of the receipt/contract
that Chris wrote up for me, the checks that Chris was given and the texts which
I sent to him asking him to come do the work he was contracted to do.
I
appreciate the Revdex.com assisting in this matter. If this cannot be resolved to my satisfaction
which is a refund of the 2nd payment Chris received ($1500), I will
be filing a small claims lawsuit against him and his company for the full amount ($2500 + legal fees). Thank You - Laura
