To Whom It May Concern: We are in receipt of complaint # [redacted] filed on 9/23/This applicant applied at Jefferson Hills for an apartment on 9/16/Our practice is to ask for a $reservation payment that will hold the apartment for the applicant so that no one else can rent it as we screen the applicantThis $goes towards first month’s rent when the person moves into the buildingIf the person is denied for any reason this $will be refunded, and if they decide to cancel the $ is forfeitThis is clearly stated on our rental application, as well as our Qualification Acknowledgement which is signed at applicationThis acknowledgement is also clearly displayed in our Leasing Office Lobby This applicant put down $and asked us to hold it until they could come back with proper proof of incomeThis is not our procedure and the check was deposited within 24-hours after receiptThe proof of income originally provided by the applicant on September 17th did not meet our standards, and they was asked to provide their two most recent pay stubsThe applicant stated that they would not be able to provide this, and asked for their money backThe money, as per our policy, had already been deposited, and would not have been returned to them in this situation, as it would not have met the requirements clearly stated at time of ApplicationThe applicant was provided with several options that would enable her to qualify for the apartmentThe applicant left the office after this conversation without clear directions of their plan to rent or cancel their application On Tuesday September 20th the applicant called the leasing office to further clarify their leasing decisionOur staff informed them again that the original proof of income that was provided did not meet our standards and that we would require the two most recent paystubs The options were gone over with the applicant once againThe applicant was not satisfied and concluded the call without warning On Wednesday September 28th the applicant came to the office and provided sufficient proper proof of incomeWe were then able to move forward with the leasing process and conduct the required screening for all applicantsAs of the writing of this email we believe the applicant to be satisfied with their leasing decision and the outcome of this leasing process.Please do not hesitate to contact me should you have any questions or concerns Thank you,
