We purchased a jacket at the [redacted] last summer We had an issue regarding the product We have been told on multiple occasions he would send us a refund in exchange for the coat He continues to have excuses and he has only sent a partial refund

I also ordered a jacket from this company and although my check was cashed by goods were never delivered to meEven today, I have been in contact with the person who owns this business to request a refund and instead I am told that my check was never received (yet my bank can confirm their business cashed the check)I am looking into legal recovery of my lost funds but hopefully educating the public will keep you from making the mistake of purchasing from this company

I gave these folks a $100 cash deposit for a custom raincoat at the chicago botanic gardens art show in september of 2017. I was told that my coat would arrive within six to eight weeks. It has been 19 months and I have not heard a word from them. I tried calling them, but their voicemail box is full. Their website has not been renewed. Several emails have been sent with no reply. I wrote a review on facebook and was promised by the woman who handles their facebook page that she would take care of my problem... Nothing! Do not do business with these people!

BUYER BEWARE. I ordere a coat at the Lincoln Center Crafts Fair in June and gave them a $100 deposit. I was told they woukd contact me in late summer for a fitting. Since September I have sent repeated emails, texts and messgaes. They finally made an appointment with me on November 3 and just did not show up. They do not answer phone or texts. I have filed a Revdex.com complaint and requested a refund.

Review: This business had a booth at the [redacted] Arts Festival Labor Day Weekend. My friend bought a coat worth approx $1000. the seller only accepted cash or checks. my friend put a $50 deposit to hold the coat and to deliver same to my house the following day. he called to say the coat among others was stolen. I told him to call the seller. he said he filed a police report. my friend called the [redacted] PD and there was no report on file. I contacted the director of the festival who indicated he would look into this matter. I posted this on Facebook and the seller threatened me with litigation. the buyer called to cancel the order and he said he would clean up the coat and deliver same to her. she refused and cancelled the order asking for remittance of her $50 cash deposit.here is my facebook posting. DO NOT BUY FROM ARTIST JEFFREY WEISS! lied about a coat that was purchased being stolen so he couldn' deliver it to my house in Greenbrae. never filed a police report as he indicated he did on Sunday 1 Sept. When confronted he said to the buyer well I can have the hood cleaned and then mail it to you. HOW CAN IT BE CLEANED IF IT WAS STOLEN. my girlfriend is the victim and is now pursuing with the [redacted] PD to visit the artist prior to closing today. This company is dishonest plain and simple.Desired Settlement: Refund $50 deposit to the buyer in San Francisco. the seller has her contact information.

Review: I ordered a rain coat in the Pick Up Sticks design from Jeffrey Weiss Designs at the "One Of A Kind" show at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago on December 8, 2013. I was told the coat was mailed via UPS on or about February 26th , 2014. I offered to pay the balance due on the coat. I was told not to pay until the coat had arrived. It is now April 7, 2014. I have never received the coat. I asked for tracking numbers. I was told that they could not be found. I then asked that the order be cancelled and that the $450.00 deposit on the coat plus the $20.00 given for the fee for shipping be returned. I have not received any response from anyone at Jeffrey Weiss Designs. I have not received a refund.Desired Settlement: I would like a refund for $470.00 made to me from Jeffrey Weiss Designs.

Dear Chamber of Commerce and

I hope you can be of assistance, including suggestions, regarding Jeffrey Weiss Designs.

On Sat., Oct. 5th, I purchased one of their raincoats. I was told that it would be ready in four (4) to five (5 ) weeks, thus either Nov. 4th or Nov. 11th. Jeffrey Weiss Designs was given a down deposit, cash. The following week, on Sat., Oct. 12th, Jeffrey Weiss Designs was given additional funds, the check that has been cashed. A balance is due.

Desired Settlement: They have not contacted me. 1 have called both their numbers as well as emailing them, to no avail.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration.

Review: I purchased a raincoat from Jeffrey W[redacted] at the [redacted] craft fair in [redacted] City (Jeff sells mainly at high-end craft shows)After years of trying to resolve this problem, I wrote a three-page letter to the craft shows at which he exhibitsIt contains all of the details regarding this complaintI've copied it in immediately following this statement:
To Whom it May Concern:
I am writing this long note to document my painful/unsuccessful experience with one of the vendors that shows at your craft fairHis name is Jeffrey W[redacted] (he makes coats and raincoats) and it has taken him more than two years to produce a defective product (three, if you count our first conversation and the deposit I gave him)He has been largely tardy or unresponsive to most of my texts and voicemails (when his mailbox wasn't full and I could actually leave one)At this point, I want this interminable and unpleasant experience to end, give him the coat back and receive a refund for the rest of my money ($600)He refuses to comply and keeps on insisting that he will remake the coatThis might seem reasonable if not for the errors and time incurred during its first incarnationI am a prior customer of his (and, I might add, a previously-happy one) but he has become a completely unreliable person/company and a liarOne can only speculate as to the reasons why
Jeffrey W[redacted] has an ‘F' rating with the Revdex.com in Connecticut, where he lives and where his business is registeredI intend to send them this letter, in addition to distributing it to [redacted]'s [redacted] and all of the organizers of all of the craft fairs where I know he exhibits, in an attempt to save others from experiencing the level of pain and waste of time he has inflicted (and continues to inflict) on meWhen I contacted the director of the [redacted] Craft [redacted] shows, I found out that I am far from the only person experiencing pain and difficulty at the hands of Jeffrey W[redacted] and that she has already excluded him from her showsFollowing are the lengthy details about my experiences with him:
I own one of his raincoats from many years ago (and hood and lining) and was very happy with itA few years ago, I decided it was time to replace the coat with a new one, so, when I saw Jeff at the [redacted] craft fair on June 19, 2012, I told him I was planning on buying a new coat from him and that he should keep his eyes out for a black or grey waterproof material and that I was going to want the same design I had before but in new colorsThese were the specific and only parameters to guide himHe collected a deposit of $from meAfter hearing nothing from him for a year (not a problem as I had told him in that I wouldn't be ready to move ahead until 2013), I saw him again at the [redacted] craft fair in June and we discussed the coat in earnestHe, apparently, had made no progress on the waterproof materials (what did he collect the $for?) and I prodded him to do soWe did, finally, go over materials at the October [redacted] craft fair (also 2013) and I chose a material as well as colors for the ‘circles' design (once again, to mimic the coat I already had which was in need of replacement)After texts back and forth (I was not given a working email address for Jeff until mid-2015), Jeff brought the coat for me to try on February 17, The coat needed various adjustments, including the lining sleeves (which ended halfway up my arm) and the snaps, which weren't lined up properlyWe had had many conversations and texts about the ‘circle' design (which colors would go where), which hadn't been implemented yet and we discussed this again while I was identifying the aforementioned issues with the coatIt was at this time that Jeff asked me for a check for $500, as a further deposit, which I gave him
When Jeff brought the coat for me to try on once again, in June, 2014, the issues with the lining sleeves and the snaps were resolved but now, while the ‘circle' design was complete and was, in fact, copied, it was placed lower down on the coat, creating an unacceptable effectJeff had the old coat the whole time from which to copy both the design and its placement just so we would not be in the position we were inRather than insist he remake the coat (an accommodation on my part), I asked for an additional ‘circle' to be added which would make the coat O.Kwith meSince I figured this addition was no big deal, it was at this time that Jeff collected the rest of his fee for the coat ($850, charged 6/29/14) and for the lining ($450, charged 7/1/2014), which he didn't tell me he was charging me for (he had also told me at the beginning of this whole process that he would be able to reuse the lining from my old coat, which I had given him and which, when it was returned to me, it was apparent that it had been used as a rag in his shop or home)
This additional ‘circle' and its placement was discussed ad nauseum over the next few monthsWhen my texts continued to be ignored and I still did not have the coat by October, I had both charges reversed on my credit card on October 14, On October 15, 2014, I received a response to my text from Jeff, showing the placement of the extra circle on my coat and a picture of the powhere we both had written the placement instructions (we both had to write it because Jeff was notorious for not being able to read his own writing)I asked him for extra material for each of the ‘circles' in the coat (by now, I was worried that they might get stained and Jeff would never be able to figure out which material was the circle I needed to replace)He finally got the coat to me on October 24, Even though he hadn't put the extra circle where we had discussed, I decided to accept it as is and had the two charges re-applied on 10/27/Soon after, I went to wear the coat, whereupon I noticed that the snap outlines felt very sharp through the coat and it felt like they would rip through eventuallyI checked my old coat (which I hadn't thrown out yet) and I could feel that there was a piece of metal behind the snap prongs, preventing them from piercing the coatI asked Jeff about this and he said, "Oh, yes', I'm waiting for those to come inWe didn't use them because we didn't have them"Once again, I gave him back the coat and he inserted these pieces when he received them and where it wouldn't be too onerous for him to do so, and I got the coat back from him again on 11/23/The lining of the coat smelled musty and I had to pay to have it dry-cleaned in order to be able to wear itSometime between the end of November and the beginning of January, 2015, I wore the coat a few times before I noticed that the scales (the coat was made from a slightly shiny black snakeskin-looking material) were starting to come off anywhere there was wear on the coat (shoulder bag on shoulder, pocket edges, sleeve edges)I had only worn the coat three or four times! I texted Jeff on January 5, and told him what was happeningOn January 9, 2015, he texted me back to say he'd be in early the next week to take a look, which he was, confirming that this should definitely not be happening; he said that, of course, he would remake the coatSince I always asked him if he had used the material before (so as to avoid a situation where I was braving new territory with the fabric), I asked him if this had happened to anyone elseHe proceeded to tell me that he had never used the material before (so, he lied when I asked him that in the first place)
On January 22, 2105, I texted him to find out how his search for a replacement fabric was goingAfter several texts from me asking about his search for new materials and telling him that this was a priority for me and needed to be for him, too, he texted me on March 9, 2015, telling me swatches were in the mailI received them on March 14, After setting up an appointment with Jeff to discuss the samples and his not keeping the appointment, I once again, called my credit card company and had the charges reversed on April 15, I received another sample on April 30th, tried calling him on May 7th to discuss them and couldn't leave a message, due to a full mailboxHe called and left a message about another sample, which he left for me on May 20thOn May 28th, we agreed to go over the samples at the [redacted] craft fair on June 6thWhen I went to the craft fair on June 6, 2015, he was too busy to discuss the swatches and couldn't make it on the 7th, eitherFinally, during the same craft fair, on June 13, 2015, I was able to grab him to discuss the swatches and pick oneIt's a good thing I only live a few blocks away from that show; otherwise, it would have been a great inconvenience to keep going back
It was at this point that I realized I was going to be put through the wringer all over again and decided I was unwilling to go through it anymoreI texted him on June 23, to pick up my coat and refund the rest of my money ($600), which had been paid so long ago that it was no longer recoverable by my actions aloneHis response was textbook Jeff W[redacted], feigning complete surprise, not being able to imagine what was wrong and telling me he couldn't possibly take the coat back because I had worn it (as if he could have sold it to someone else if I hadn't)In addition, it turns out that the material isn't even waterproof, the most important feature I needed (and which I repeated to Jeff or times)
Lastly, I still have most of the texts demonstrating his lack of intention to resolve this issue by either delayed or no responses.Desired Settlement: Take back the defective coat and give me the remainder of my money back - $I have been able to recover the rest of my money already ($1300)Yes, it was a $coat!

Review: I purchased a "made to order" designer outerwear coat from Jeff Weiss Designs at the [redacted] show on March 14, 2015. The total cost was $1,075.00 including shipping. I put down a $100.00 deposit at time of purchase with the balance due upon shipping the made to order coat. It was promised in 4 weeks. There were two phone calls asking about specifics of arm length and design details. About 5 weeks later, I got a call saying the coat was being shipped and to send the balance which I foolishly did. The coat arrived; wrong material, way too big, wrong design elements. Nothing was as promised.Photos were emailed and a discussion was made over the phone. The coat was mailed back.No response to calls or emails. A compliant was filed with [redacted]. That got a phone call and promises. JWD was dropped and banned from all [redacted] shows (there were other complaints). To date I have no coat, no money, no response to calls or emails. Shut them down or get my money back.Desired Settlement: I would like my full refund, $1075.00.I no longer want anything associated with what seems to be a scam. Shut the business down.
