Revdex.com:
I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this does not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.
[To assist us in bringing this matter to a close, we would like to know your view on the matter.]

We Installed a set of 4 new tires on ~his customer's vehicle, Inspected the front-end, and performed analignment check. The alignment was within specifications and the front-end had no defenses at thattime. Later, now the front tires have excessive wear on the outer edges of the front tires. .Outer...

edge wear on front tires is caused by the wheels being out of alignment which can be caused byencountering bumps, potholes, curbs, etc. It can also be caused by broken or loose front-end parts suchas tie rod ends, ball joints, control arms, shocks/struts, etc. These problems can occur at anvtime. (Thevehicle ha~ not been presented for Inspection so I cannot confirm the cause of the problem.)Outer edge wear on a tire Is considered "'uneven tire wear." Tire manufacturers will not warranty tiresfor uneven tire wear. It Is not caused by a problem with the tire, it Is caused by a problem with thevehicle. If I submit the tires to the manufacturer for a warranty claim, it is 100% certain that the claimwill be denied. Therefore, a full refund. as the customer requested, will not occur. We provide all of our customers free tire rotations for the life of the tires. This helps extend the life ofthe tires and allows for the opportunity for Inspection to detect problem:as In the early stages to helpprotect the customer's Investment. Unfortunately, the customer did not take advantage of this andthese tires were never rotated and Inspected. (For the customer's future reference: a tire manufacturerwill require tire rotation documentation for warranty claims.)I tried repeatedly to explain this to the customer (I did not "shout» but told her that I tried explainingthis 4 tfmes and now I'm done). I doubt that she °will be satisfied with my response. But I would stfllllketo offer her: 1) a free front-end Inspection to see If a part has become broken or Icose; 2} tires at $82each despite the prices being higher now since her original purchase (that Includes mounting, balancing, new valve stems, and tire disposal); 3) a free alignment and 4} free tire rotation for the life of the tires.I will make this offer available until the end of the year.I hope this helps.Sincerely,Jeffs Automotive,

My wife took my car in last year (2015) and Jeff's replaced the battery. Just last week I had to have the battery replaced as it was bad. Came to find out the battery that Jeff's put in last year was from 2005.
Jeff's also quoted me almost $900 to fix an evap issue so that my car would pass emissions. I got a second opinion. The real problem was a loose vacuum hose. Evap error fixed and car inspected for under $100.
I will never take any of my cars to Jeff's again, not even for an oil change.

Review: I took my car there twice for the same issue that should have been fixed the first time. After the third time (had to get it towed in there since the problem got so bad) I called to check on it. The receptionist was rude when I called to ask her on the status of the vehicle and said "YOU PEOPLE ARE IMPOSSIBLE". She transferred me to [redacted] who then proceeded to be rude. I kept a fake, happy voice since I don't want anything done to my car that shouldn't be. No one called me to approve any parts, no one called to tell me what was wrong with my car, nothing. I'm the owner of the vehicle yet they were not contacting me about it. He also insisted that I claimed I said I had a totally different issue than what I really said it was. I feel this was horrible customer service and for the third time dealing with them and $600 later, you'd think they'd be a little nicer since they couldn't get it right the first time.Desired Settlement: I want my money back but they are so rude that I don't ever want to step foot back in that place.

Response:

Thank you for forwarding this customer's concern. Copies of related paperwork are attached.

This vehicle was brought to us for a problem with the check engine light on and running rough

intermittently. Diagnostic testing was done and the computer showed that the throttle was not

operating correctly. Replacement of the throttle body is the recommended repair in this

situation but in an effort to spare the customer the expense of replacement, we serviced and

cleaned the throttle to see if that would resolve the problem and maybe avoid the expense of

replacement. The computer was also updated (as computers require updating at intervals).

[redacted] requested that the spark plugs be inspected. The spark plug gap was measured at .063 and

spec is .043. This indicates that they are worn. The rubber spark plug connector boots were

old and brittle. The spark plugs and connector boots were replaced.

Cleaning the throttle did not resolve the problem; therefore, replacement of the throttle body

was required. The customer was credited with the $35 that was charged previously for the

cleaning of the throttle and was given a free loaner car.

All findings were discussed, a cost estimate was given, and authorization was obtained prior to

any work being performed (see attached).

[redacted] states "No one called me to approve any parts, no one called to tell me what was wrong

with my car, nothing. I'm the owner of the vehicle yet they were not contacting me about it."

[redacted] was indicated as the contact person and [redacted]'s phone number was provided as the contact

phone number. At no time did [redacted] provide us with her contact information. If she did not

want [redacted] to be the contact person, then she had the responsibility to provide us with her

contact information. In auto repair, work authorizations do not need to come from the owner.

There is no such legal requirement. It is common for someone other than the owner to bring in

a vehicle and to give authorization for work to be performed (males helping females, parents

helping kids, etc). The owner is usually appreciative of this help.

On 1/7, it was requested that this vehicle be towed in because it wouldn't start. The tow truck

driver stated that it started without difficulty. When the vehicle arrived, it started normally and

ran well on a road test. The computer was scanned and tested for trouble codes; there were no

trouble codes present which indicated that the computer did not detect any problem.

There is a 30-day warranty on the diagnostic testing from 12/26/13, which provides for free

retesting should a drivability problem or check engine light re-occur.

Thank you for the taking the time to facilitate communication. Please feel free to contact me

with any questions.

Sincerely,

Owner

Review: I Have spent close To 700 dollars at this shop around 2/24/2015 to 3/17/2015 on February 24 ,2015 I paid for all new 4 tires with 50,000 mile warranty including a alignment for $346.00 . All of my tires tore from the outside already and I have not put the 50,000 miles or anything close to it on the the tires. from my knowledge the warranty is suppose to get me new tires. I went to Jeff the owner of the shop he shouted at me rudely and said he will not get me new tires or the refund that I deserve with the warranty.Desired Settlement: With my warranty I deserve a full refund on the tires sense he refuses to change the damaged tires.
