Jeff's Truck Service & Power Reviews (4)

I am rejecting this response because: Jeff was aware of the $300 dollar cap on repairs on the vehicle. Being out of state and having my vehicle brought in for repairs by a friend isnot an excuse to take advantage of someone that is trying to get a cold start issue addressed. This was the only issue that the vehicle was having at the time it was taken to Jeff'sTruck Service. He could have called my friend or myself but never reached out to me until the day that my wife went to pick the truck up. I wasn't aware that when a mechanic saysthat we will look into what it would take to fix something is authorization on my part as the customer to do so. I kept asking Jeff where I was in regards to the cost of repairs and he would tap dance around the question by saying we are getting close. The fact is I should have received a written estimate for repairs by Jeff's that should have been signed by myselfbefore the repairs were done to my vehicle.

To Whom It May Concern:
I have reviewed the complaint made by [redacted]. I would like to respond first by saying that he is not the paying customer. An alternate company come in and gave us THEIR specifications for their job. We supplied the exact Generator and parts requested. We were not asked to come to the work site and we were not asked to measure or assume what the capacity of the generator needed to be. Simply put, the customer (NOT Mr. [redacted]) wanted a 4KW Generator. The smallest propane unit is a 7KW and the customer decided to purchase the 8KW since it was a newer model and the same price. Soalr panels were never mentioned in this process.
We upgraded the unit to a 10KW, still at no cost to Mr. [redacted]. The 8KW would not have been an issue except that he was maxing it out with his growing needs. Over the months of dealing with this person, there was never any routine maintenance done on the unit and he was pushing the generator to perform at maximum load consistently. On one instance the oil cap was completely off.
Speaking to his inconvenience, it is our company that has been extremely inconvenienced due to the fact that we stand 100% behind our products and have bent over backwards to help this owner, even though we did not sell him an inappropriate unit. Mr. [redacted] has never paid one penny to our company, even though we have been to his home many times to help him (over sixty mountainous miles each way). Therefore, there will be no reimbursement.
Addtionally, we ave been asked by the factory, [redacted], to no longer deal with this customer. Mr. [redacted] has been advised that the only way he wll be speaking regarding this issue again is through the legal department at [redacted].
I am attaching a portion of his email regarding his dissatisfaction is not being able to make any decisions. This was because the government paid for everything. When a government agency offers you a free house and a generator, I assume they understand you need heat. But if your needs are greater than their free offer, I would expect Mr. [redacted] to pay for those upgrades.
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Review: I am out of state so my friend took my truck to [redacted]'s Truck Service on 5/9/2015 to address a cold start issue. He told [redacted] that I had a $300 repair budget. On 5/13/2015 I called [redacted] to find out the status of my truck. he told me that they were in the process of removing and replacing the glow plugs and gave me an estimate of 1 1/2 to 2 hours to replace the glow plugs. I called [redacted] again to ask how everything was going and where we were at reference the budget that I had given him. he told me that we were close on budget because a couple of the glow plugs were swollen and difficult for the technician to remove. He said that he was going to have his technician look at the wiring on my truck and that he had a couple of trucks in the yard that they could use as a guide. Although the truck started just fine (The reason why my friend took the truck to [redacted] in the first place), he proceeded to tell me that they were looking into removing a button that the previous owner installed to warm up the glow plugs. At no time during this time frame was I given a quote or written estimate nor did I sign any paperwork authorizing work on my vehicle. All correspondence with [redacted] was on the phone. Over the course of numerous phone conversations I asked [redacted] where we were at on the bill and did not receive verbal or written communication on any amount. The only written correspondence that I received was in the form of two bills one for $1886.96 on 6/4/2015 and the final bill on 6/6/2015 for $2132.21. There is a huge disparity between what [redacted] was told was my repair ceiling and what the final bill was. When my wife went over to pick up the truck and pay the bill, there was a complete lack of professionalism and ethical business practices. [redacted] was condescending and threatening towards my wife and her friend not explaining the repairs that were made on the bill and also had his men go out and disable my vehicle so that my wife could not leave the premises even having two of his workers stand in front of the truck.Desired Settlement: I want a billing adjustment and refund from Jeff's Truck Service in the amount of $1832.21 for the labor/parts/repair that I did not receive a written estimate or quote from Jeff's company nor did I sign or authorize the work to be completed. I also want a formal apology from Jeff to my wife for the way that he not only treated her on the phone prior to picking up the truck, but also for the day and actions that were taken by Jeff and his employee's at his business on Monday June 8th 2015.

Response:

Please be advised that the customer, [redacted], called from out of state that he just bought this vehicle in need of repair. He was advised on the phone of all the repairs necessary, and he agreed to the cost of the repair. When authorization is done solely on the phone, a signature cannot be obtained. A final invoice was emailed to [redacted] at the completion of the repairs. He had his wife pick up the vehicle and she requested to see that it starts. We showed her that it did. When she came into the office, she stated to the cashier that she would only pay $1000.00 for the repairs. She proceeded to write a check for that amount. When she was told she that she could not pick up the vehicle without full payment, she stated that she could write the check for the full balance but the funds were not in the bank to cover that check. Once she admitted that she was not able to pay for the balance, a technician disabled the vehicle. She became very upset and tried to have a customer jump start the truck so that she could leave without paying. When the service technician saw that he stopped the effort. Then [redacted]’s wife called a tow truck to have the unit towed off the premises, still without paying in full. The tow driver came, but did not tow the vehicle. The sheriff and highway patrol came out to medicate the problem and they agreed that the bill must be paid before she could take the vehicle. Ultimately, his wife brought cash to pay for the full balance. The vehicle was enabled, and she left under the supervision of the authorities. Our staff was never condescending or threatening in any way, just firm in the fact that she could not the the vehicle until the bill was paid. Thank you, Jeff’s Truck Service.

Review: Jeff's Trucking and Power was subcontracted by [redacted]'s [redacted] to install power generator on my property. Well, there has been issues with them getting the generator to work properly, and they have been out to service these generator on my property more than 70+ times (with the need of my presences every time). Of course, this has cause me great distress, and is very inconvenient on my existence of life. In the beginning of this installment of generator(8kw), The tech, and Jeff had mentioned that the generator would work properly with Solar Panels. In the contract, there was to be solar Panels too installed, so that the generator would only be a back-up. For some reason, Jeff's Trucking took it upon themselves to continue to try to remedy the generator (only power source to the home) issues without solar panel support. They did not refuse to install without solar panels but have continually to repair the issue over 70+ times, which is causing issues with the [redacted] warranty policy. keep in mind, I am not making any decisions here, it is all on Jeff's Trucking and [redacted]'s Home, whom are not finishing the job that they were paid for. I have no power for this home which means there is no heat (electric furnace) as well, not good living conditions especially now that it's winter, this was to be a Turn Key Installation Home. Is has been going on for over 7 months, and now Jeff's Trucking and Power won't come out to fix it, in fact, no one will fix it. [redacted] won't warranty the generator due to the way Jeff's power has handled the generator I assume. What I don't understand is why Jeff did not go back to the contractor, refuse to install unless solar panels are to be installed, or state that the generator is not going to work properly, and that the contractor needs to make improvements. I had sent a letter to Jeff requesting all information on this project, and products that are involved in this issue, still no response for them. This is a serious matter.Desired Settlement: Compensation for every day school was missed due to be here for them, and student loan repaid. I need to have all information from them, of how many times they have been here to repair generator, etc? Why the generator was not properly working this whole time, what they did, each and every time they came out? Why they didn't refuse to work on generator knowing that it needed solar panels? Why not contact contractor for issues, who bought the generators, all info. on Products.investigation needed

Response:

Requesting that all information on this product/project be pass forward to me. Example, How many times your employees have been on my property to repair equipment. Why the issues was never fixed properly, what was the issues on every visit? What was done to try to remedy the problems? Why it's still not solved? Why after four months of this (no consistent power to the home), why didn't Jeff's Trucking and Power asks others for assistance on the repairs? They had been out on this property over 70 times in trying to fix the 8kw generator and tthe 10kw generator., why still not working properly. Did they know about the warranty policy the [redacted] have on these generators? Who make the orders to purchase the generators? How much did the generators cost? I need all receipts to all product, and parts relating to this project on [redacted]. Why it has taken so to figure out that generators are not enough to run the house alone (that's without well, and sewer pump)? Is it normal that it would take 7+ months to get a system to work properly in your experience? Was this done intentionally to the owner for some reason? What are the excuses for the way things turned out on this project/products. I need and request that the products and servicess be repaired and working properly under the contract of project. Why Jeff's Trucking and Power will not come out to repair the generator now that's never worked properly and is not working now?
