Review: I believe that this plumber and this company is doing business in an unacceptable and dishonest way. This plumber was called because they were a local company and I was without hot water. The owner came to the house within 30 minutes. He looked at the job and spoke to my daughter. He said that the cost for installation was $825.00. My daughter also received a call from another plumber when Jemco was there. The contractor on the phone was cheaper, but with Jemco standing there he was able to intervene with the decision by saying that other plumbers will have additional fees and that his cost was $825.00 total. And that there would be hot water the same day. My daughter took this man at his word. During the installation his workers found a problem with the existing flue pipe. He told my daughter that there would be an additional cost of $175.00. When my daughter spoke to his worker she said that the owner guaranteed the job would be $825.00 total. The cost and time to remedy this issue was so overstated. The piece of pipe would cost less than twenty dollars and the time to install it was less than thirty minutes. When the bill was presented to my daughter the $175.00 was included to which she said that she never agreed to that additional expense. There were words over this amount. My daughter was treated with disrespect and intimidated. Before anything was said she offered to split the amount with the owner. The owner called back and agreed to split the cost so that the additional fee was $87.50. I believe that this is a practice that is unacceptable and that people should be held to their word. I would not give this company a good recommendation.Desired Settlement: The workers left with the check and told my daughter to "lose my number I won't be back". I want the paper work and the manual that belong to this water heater and any warranty information sent to my address. I prefer that they don't come to my residence.
