Jennifer's Auto Sales & Service Reviews (11)

Complaint: [redacted]
I am rejecting this response because:Your response has not addressed my issue of concern.  First off, there was no noise associated with the power steering issue.  This issue was said to be found because of a"gushing power steering leak."  This was found by seeing not hearing.  More so, it was said on the service invoice that I reported the power steeering leak, and that it was not found by a technician.  Despite when the belt noise was discovered, this still doesn't change that when this repair was all said and done, 3 new belts had been replaced. Two of those belts were installed by Jennifer's, as well as new pullies.  If Jennifer's would have proceeded to attempt to repair my vehicle, I would have an unneeded harmonic balancer as well.  So Jennifer's has installed two new uneeded belts,, new pullies, when the problem all along was the alternator.  More so, the new belt which Jennifer's had installed had to be replaced due to the mechanic at Jennifer's attempts to quiet the new belt down with lube when they could not accurately diagnose the problem.I thought to be taking my vehicle to a professional repair facility.  Not only have I been acceptionally disappointed with service, this response you have provided to my letter has further agitated me. If you are to take matters seriously, then please address my concerns after the pullies had been replaced and after the 2nd belt had been replaced.  My vehicle left Jennifer's in worse condition that it arrived.  This problem was easily diagnosed by Chevrolet and my van is now in perfect running condition; despite that the vehicle is"old.       "
Sincerely,
[redacted]

Dear Mr. [redacted],As I mentioned in my previous response, my service employees tell me that your vehicle had multiple problems. Assuming that you authorized them to repair the power steering, I have to venture that that was the major issue at the initial point of service. Once repaired, they tell me that your other issues surfaced. I reviewed the situation with them again this afternoon just to make sure my understanding was accurate and they tell me it was. I understand that you disagree with their findings, but I have to rely on their knowledge of the situation. That said, I cannot reimburse you for repairs made at a different dealer that are most likely a result of a pre-existing issue. I again, thank you for your time.

Sold us a car was told everything was checked out. A/C was supposed to work it dont was told wipers and washer worked windshield washer dont work computer crapped out before even made one payment. They were to pay off title loan got a call from title loan saying we owe them money.

I was recently car shopping for a very specific car and went to quite a few dealers. Jennifer's Operations Manager, [redacted] told me he would help me look and I got a phone call a few days later that they found what I wanted. I said yes and they had the vehicle at the lot, clean and ready to go by the weekend. I was so blown away by the level of customer service that I wanted to share my experience. Five Stars. Thank you!

I purchased a used vehicle from this dealership 6 months ago. I went to trade it in today and found out that the car has a salvage title. At no time during my purchase was I made aware of this. It shows four different years the car was totaled out. Beware of them not showing a carfax. Expensive learning lesson for me.

We were having a rough week when the engine on our car blew. We contacted Jennifer's and have nothing but great things to say. They worked with us on a very fair trade in. The sales consultant was extremely helpful. There was no pushy sales issues, he took me around and just simply talked to me and asked about what I did and didn't like so we could find a good fit. He suggested a few vehicles that I normally would not have driven that I actually thought were great. We ended up buying a used car from them. They made a very rough week turn out great.

On 6/15/13 I stopped in at Jennifer's Auto Bargain Barn down the road from and owned by Jennifer's Auto. I told the salesman that I had $1200 cash and wanted a 4 cylinder car, they didn't have one for that price so he showed me a 6 cylinder Chevy Lumina, It was marked $1600, but he said I could probably get it for $1200 cash, it ran and drove nice, so I went inside and put in an offer for $1200, 15 mins latter he comes back and says "The car was marked wrong and they can't sell it for less than $1800 cash, but I can sell you this Buick for $1500 cash. No only did they not take my offer but they raised the price $200. Yesterday I looked on the Jennifer's Auto website and they have the Lumina listed at $3000. It has 165,000 miles and I see the Buick has over 200,000 miles. I drove down the road and bought a 1991 Pontiac Grand Am 4 cylinder like I wanted with 132,000 miles for $1200 cash. They were honest with me at [redacted] and the manager even helped me. I never even saw the manager at Jennifer's so called Bargain Barn. I also didn't see anyone else there buying a car and yet there were two other people buying cars at [redacted].

Review: When we are close to a deal, I wanted to have that Buick be check by an Independent Inspection. When I mentioned to the Salesman that I would have it check from another auto repair shop, he said "You don't have to do that because Jennifer's had complete inspection already". So I believe him. Later, I found that the auto door was not working. I complained about it and the Sales person agreed to have it fix with not charge. Now I discovered that the trunk door is not working. I did not discover that until a friend said...you do not need to pull and open because it show on the key pad a picture of trunk door up. So we tried several times...finally the guy from the gas station said it does not work. He said something has to be change. I never had car like this so I did not know about it. I called again and the Sales man said''bring it over we will look it and also he said if it is the power problem he will not do the repairs.

I was thrilled because this automatic trunk opener will help my shoulder from reaching. I had surgery and I am short that when I open it I have to stretch my arm and stand on my toes to close the trunk.

The Sales man should have told the truth and should have mentioned the problems of the car before he sold it to us. I also send them a letter stating the problem.Desired Settlement: Again, if they really inspected this car as the Sales man stated, then all problems have been corrected. I would like them to fix the trunk. If they really inspected the car, then problems would arise.

Response:

Dear Ms. [redacted],As per our phone conversation, I have been in touch with the dealer/manufacturer of your vehicle and confirmed via VIN# check that the power trunk option was not available on that model. In your complaint, you state that we failed to inspect that component and I'd like you to know that that isn't the case as it appears your vehicle simply isn't equipped with that option.I hope that this finding brings satisfaction to your complaint and as I mentioned on the phone, I welcome you to bring the vehicle by our dealership so that we can confirm that with you in person.Sincerely, [redacted] - Operations Manager

I recently bought a 2000 nissan xterra from jenifers on sprague. The car had a minor problem (alternator belt chirp upon start up) and check engine light came on shortly after I purchased it. I called jennifers and told them the issues and they had me come in so they could fix it. While they were fixing it they gave me a loaner car with a full tank of gas. They told us if there were any problems what so ever to bring it in for them to look at. I am very satisfied and surprised with the high level of service we are receiving from them. The financing process took a bit longer than expected but we sat down on a comfortable couch and watched t.v. while waiting. This is the best experience I have had out of about 5 used car lots I've been to. Highly recommend jennifers auto sales to other cusomers due to the honesty and willingness to make us happy!

Last week I posted a review about this dealership that was negative. I have since talked with them and I must say I have a totally different outlook now. I may not be able to remove my negative review but please consider this one positive. They took care of the title issue immediately and got me out of that car. They are truly amazing nice people there. Please don't let my past review scare you away. I know from now on where to go to buy a used car, and that jennifers auto sales and service!!!!! A++++++++++ management!!!!!!

Purchased vehicle, within 6 days was in for repair. Less than 2 weeks later, back in for repairs, 2 weeks later back in for major repairs. Was told the car was a lemon but I was too picky and they didn't have anything to offer me to "replace" my lemon. They did fix the car, after I complained the last time as they said they were done fixing it. The vehicle was in the shop 45 out of the first 90 days I owned it. Fast forward six month, yep it's broke down and we're debating on making payments and leaving it in the driveway and using my husband's "clunker truck." Would NOT ever recommend anyplace that tells me the vehicle is a lemon but won't replace said lemon with a like vehicle in price.
