We certainly understand *** ***'s frustration with his vehicle repairAt this point his vehicle has not been repaired to our satisfactionHe has an intermittent electrical problem affecting the stability control system which in turn affects the drivability and power of the vehicleThese
systems are extremely complicated involving an intricate wiring system and numerous control modules (mini computers)The intermittent component of this problem makes trouble shooting very difficultIn other words when the car is not acting up the systems check okWe have been able duplicate *** ***'s condition while driving his vehicle, but only sporadicallyWe have been in contact with a *** *** field service engineer for his assistance in solving the problemWe are continuing to work on the vehicle and hope to have a resolution this week if possibleOften in these cases, nothing will actually test bad or show an exact defectWhen this is the case we use our best judgment based on the situation to chart a course of corrective actionBecause of the intermittent nature of the problem we can often not confirm that our resolution has fixed the customers issueWe ask *** ***'s patience in this matterWe will contact *** *** later this week to give him an update

As the customer describes, this vehicle was brought to our service department with the complaint of a security light on in the dash and a beeping noise related to the security lightOur diagnostic procedures indicated that there was a fault in the BCM (body control module)The two repair
choices were to replace the BCM or to attempt a reprogram of the BCM which is sometimes sucessfulIn an effort to minimize the repair cost to the customer we attempted to reprogram the BCMThe fault within the BCM would allow only a 10% update and was unsuccessfulBecause the customer and his family have been long time customers of the dealership we offerred the customer a discounted price for both the parts and labor to complete the job

We also provided her a letter stating that all necessary paperwork has been provided to [redacted] (a nationally know title processing company). We will continue to follow up with both [redacted] and the Wisconsin DMV...

until the registration and title are processed. We apologize for the delay and inconvenience that this has caused. Our Pennsylvania New Car Dealer Association has determined that approximately 40% of all out of state title transactions take longer than 30 days. They have worked with PennDot and the Pennsylvania State Police and have agreement that our Pa. temporary registration should be increased to 60 days. This should be law in the near future but obviously doesn't help in this situation.
