Initial Business Response /* (1000, 5, 2015/05/11) */
In Dec. '14 Jensen Elec. gave [redacted] a bid to do wiring in her home including the bedroom, porch, computer room, & bathroom. She was aware that there may be some damage to existing drywall, lathe, and plaster (it was old and brittle)and...

that her drywall contractor would be fixing any damage. During the next couple months the house remained unlocked the majority of the time. After the job was completed w/the exception of the closet lights (which were supposed to have been purchased by Ms. [redacted] as per contract) Jensen Elec. received payment. Normally a service fee would be charged to return & finish a job when the homeowner hadn't provided materials as planned, but told her this fee would be waived. Jensen Elec. then didn't hear from her again until Apr. 23 '15. [redacted] met with her and informed her that Jensen Elec. were busy with other work but would have someone there on Tues. Apr. 28 '15. She sent a text on 4/28/15 telling Jensen Elec. to come finish the job. She sent another text stating that the door would be unlocked. The employee who was to be completing the work had a personal issue that day so [redacted] went over and locked the door to her house. The next morning 4/29/15 she text [redacted] saying she had left the door open and he was a no show, "not cool". [redacted] responded by explaining that there had been a situation, that he had personally gone and locked her house up, and that the employee would be there Fri. May 1st '15 to complete the job. she responded with the following text: "Since you are obviously avoiding me I will be hiring the job out to finish what you have been paid for and also getting estimates on the dry wall that you damaged." This matter had been addressed during bidding, and also [redacted] had said he would personally fix it if it was that big of an issue, to which she replied "don't worry about it". On Thurs. 4/30/15 Kim sent a text saying she would not be home until after 7pm on 5/1/15 and she would not be leaving the house unlocked again. So [redacted] assumed she would be rescheduling some time in the next week, since business hours are from 7am - 5pm M-F. The following day 5/1/15 [redacted] received a text at 8:30pm saying "Assuming since it is 8pm you are not showing up. Done messing with you and see you in court". She never asked if they would be coming at 7pm or made any effort to reschedule. She had basically expected them to come in after hours and do the work, but never confirmed this, just assumed it. After-hours work isn't always a problem, but after waiting since January for her to get the lights, it did not seem like an emergency, and she made little effort to schedule at an acceptable time. Jensen Electric is more than willing to complete the job as planned if she is willing to schedule a time during business hours and have a way for the employee to get into the house.
