Jensen's Elite Detail Reviews (11)

I bought this groupon thinking that it would be an easy way to get my car detailed. I'm on the run and work between offices so I scheduled a time for them to come out. They arrived .... 30 min late. I was advised that the appointment would take an hour and a half (I only had 45 min ) so they did the exterior and we rescheduled for the interior.
This morning, they showed up 30 min late again without apology. He demanded $20 for gas which he stated was in the fine print, though he couldn't show me where. He yelled at me as he left stating, "keep the money. The job is done that's all I care about." If there was an option for 0 stars, that's what they would get. Unbelievably unprofessional and not how I wanted to start my day.

[redacted], you did such an incredible job that I wanted to share with other potential clients how great you are! [redacted] is reliable, and extremely hard working. He didn't cut any corners, he took his time and don't let me fail to mention that he is NOT paid by the hour! Great guy, and great work. My car has never looked better and his rates are better than anyone else in town. I will definitely be a repeat customer and refer him out to my friends and family.

[redacted], the owner of Jensen's Elite Detail, did a great job on both our SUV and sedan today. He came to our home and did a very thorough job on both vehicles. The SUV was a challenge and he made it sparkle! Thanks so much.

They came out and detailed 2 of my vehicles yesterday. They did a fantastic job, even cleaned in places I never thought of! My cars look like they just came out of the dealership again.

Review: I paid $140. for my car to be detailed ($120. + $20 tip). My car was running fine prior to the detail and after the detail it started to shake and shimmy. 3 different mechanics and another detailer advised that [redacted], the owner of Jensen's soaked the engine compartment and caused us to have to replace coils and spark plugs resulting in $584. in damages. They advised us that as a professional detailer he should have known not to soak the engine compartment. When I asked [redacted] to refund the $ that I paid him for the detailing (& didn't even ask him to pay for the damages he caused), he claimed that all of those other professionals don't know what they're talking about and that I was just trying to scam him for a free detailing job. He blamed the damages to the vehicle on everyone and everything else but himself and refused to accept any responsibility for the damages he caused to my carDesired Settlement: Refund for the detailing service. We are not asking for the resulting damages, although he was responsible for the resulting damages.

This person is complaining that I washed their engine but I asked them about it first. They wanted it done as it was part of the detail that they purchased so I did just so. The vehicle in question was 11 years old and I have no control over seals shrinking, breaking down, etc. I've been detailing for almost 25 years now and have absolutely never had one customer with issues like what these people are claiming. I have ALSO spoken to two very experienced mechanics and agree that the only reason any possible moisture could have gotten into anything is if the seals weren't tight like a new car. I have no control over regular maintenance not being done to a vehicle. I detailed the vehicle as they requested and no refund will be issued.

Response:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID [redacted], and have determined that this proposed action would not resolve my complaint. For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below. The fact that he asked us if we wanted the engine washed is not true. We were not asked if he could wash the engine. We do perform regular maintenance of our vehicle. The car performed fine until the detailing was performed and then afterwards it did not, which was a direct result from him washing the engine compartment area which we did not request him do nor did he ask us if he could wash the compartment. As for this business person being in business for so long and claiming that he has never had any issues of this nature, during my conversation with him, he admitted that there are and have been issues with washing the area around the engine compartment but that it should be fine after a few days of drying out. My car was not fine and required repairs do to this business person soaking the engine compartment. We have confirmation from 2 different repair shop businesses that this is in fact the CAUSE of the damage to the vehicle and that a detailer should know NOT to soak the engine compartment of a 1998 Ford Expedition as it is likely to cause damage.Regards,[redacted]

Response:

The engine cleaning is part of the detail package. If you had read everything included you would have seen that and if you didn't want it done then you are the one that should have specified it. I don't pick and choose what to clean on a customers vehicle. And regarding my statement of never having this issue before is very true. I have never in all my years of detailing had a vehicle that this exact thing happened to. No one ever had any mechanical repairs done to a vehicle from having it cleaned. Ever.Regards,[redacted]
