I went into the Glamour tile store in Mineola and picked out some tile and purchased it with installation on 2/*/2020. I paid $600 for 25 sq/ft and $30 for a bag of Grout. The labor to install the tile was $700 which I paid half $350 . in total I paid 630 plus tax 54.30 = 654.30 + 350 dep on labor.
I material was short by 7 sheets which were bought the second visit $175.00 plus 26 pieces of a new tile $208.at $150 extra for the installation of the new tile. The remainder of the $700 was paid at the second visit $350. I have tried several times to get them to complete this job to no avail. The promised several but still no results. When I call to inquire they don't answer their phone. I did mention that it was strange that they measured and I was so short on material. The contractor said there was wasted. When I looked in my garbage I found several pieces of tile that were usable in the space I was rebuying for. I have pictures to show what I'm talking about. It has been nearly 2 months with no backsplash and my stove out of place and unable to use my sink. I asked that my money be returned and I got no reply. I am left with no choice other than to seek resolution from my bank and a complaint to Revdex.com. See attached documents.
Hi ***My name is ***, from glamour tile Case # ***Our customer Allen S bought tiles on February for his backsplash. The materials took around 2 to 3 weeks to get it. I asked him did you add the waste for cutting the tiles. He said his old contractor gave him this measurements. So We ordered what he told us to order, but In the middle of the job he came to order more tiles. It took about 2 to 3 weeks to get the tiles, our Contactor was little upset because he lost his time by not having enough materials. And he has to come back after 2 weeks to finish. Beside the customer said on the beginning that the back splash only 22 sf which was 30 sf. All Sheetrock was damaged and he never told us. He did not want the contractor to go first to see it. He said that he busy and work all the time and he will be available only when the contractor ready for installation. We really had a hard time with the customer. Once the materials came in the contractor called Allen ( the customer) and he told him that he is going to install the small area left on Wednesday. Then all the circumstances happened. The contractor tried too many times to reach him out. He never answered anymore. Because he was planning for all this. exactly like what he did with the previous contractor which he damage the Sheetrock for his back splash. And he never and he never wanted us to see all that. Better installation. Allen created a lot of problems during the 2 days installation, like why the contractor did not use small certain pcs. Which contractor knows what he is doing. And he sent me a picture of damage pc he wanted the contractor to install it. His back splash more than 90 % are done. Materials and installation. Just please be aware of that. And I’m wondering why he never answered the contractor to finish the small left area. The customer was not fair to us. Like he was not fair to the previous contractor. Because he offered us to do more work for him. But the contractor refused for the way he treated us. Thanks a lot for your time to read our email.
